Former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, dispatched by the CIA in February 2002 to investigate reports that Iraq sought to reconstitute its nuclear weapons program with uranium from Africa, was specifically recommended for the mission by his wife, a CIA employee, contrary to what he has said publicly.
Wilson last year launched a public firestorm with his accusations that the administration had manipulated intelligence to build a case for war. He has said that his trip to Niger should have laid to rest any notion that Iraq sought uranium there and has said his findings were ignored by the White House.
Wilson's assertions both about what he found in Niger and what the Bush administration did with the information were undermined yesterday in a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report.
The panel found that Wilson's report, rather than debunking intelligence about purported uranium sales to Iraq, as he has said, bolstered the case for most intelligence analysts. And contrary to Wilson's assertions and even the government's previous statements, the CIA did not tell the White House it had qualms about the reliability of the Africa intelligence that made its way into 16 fateful words in President Bush's January 2003 State of the Union address.

Yes it is - about in the class of Dan Rather's fake documents.
Here was a REAL DOCUMENT which discredited Wilson - and they ignored it.
Gee.
And should we wait for Dan Blather to have this on his CBS Wednesday edition of 60 minutes?
Seriously, why has it taken 3 years (almost) for the Bush/Clinton/inept CIA/State Dept heads to get this report out?
Did this come only now that Condi is in charge?
It's an old news story.
I copied it from printer before I knew how to save stories on this thing. The address for the article is,http://www.washingtontimes.com/commentary/20040719-084057-3820r.htm
I don't know how to do a link, I should go play in the sandbox I know. Anyhow, there it is.
amazing how this stuff is revealed AFTER an election.
Look at the dates. This stuff was released before the elections, it's just nobody cared about it.
No. We cared.
But nobody who publishes news cared. What a bunch of cr@p! Heads should roll. But how do you fire the owner/publishers?

Good question. When you find an answer, get back to me please.
If there are a bunch shareholders and those shareholders tend to be DemocRATS, there's no way to hold those publishers accountable.
If I dream up another idea, I'll let you know.
Thanks, I'll be waiting to hear from you. :-)
If so...I wonder if he has committed perjury.
What if Plame and her boss are the source cited by the reporters who have recieved subopenas.
It's been clear to me that the Rats screaming Liar! at everything said by this Administration is a dangerous, but considering the instant cooperation of the MSM, effective trick to move the pejorative word from the Clintons to someone else in the public's mind.
Repeat 24/7, wall-to-wall, everywhere every way. "Nice day out today isn't it? Bush is a liar, ya know. How's things going with you? Bush lies, ya know."
Only the apolitical can be fooled but that's most everyone. Few remember even the most "popular" Clinton lies.
There are not enough pejorative words to describe my contempt for the sick minds behind this Leninist and Nazi-like attempt but alas it appears to be part of some sort of leftist "intellectual"-imposed post-something or other feeeeeeeelings. There's more to this than remaking the Clintons.
This ain't a house divided it's house wrecking.
Time for a wall-to-wall cleansing. Let's get it over with. It can take many forms, the choice would be the enemies within. I am prepared too accept just about any option that President Bush has. We are at war. What would Abraham Lincoln do?
Just for old times' sake!
Ping.
Don't hold your breath. Like holding it while Klinton gets charged and prosecuted for his crimes. Don't hold your breath.
Rush said today, Rove will be stronger after all this liberal handwringing. I think he's right. This is just another chink in the liberal's ABB agenda. They're children, they can't get over Gore's loss, they hate the fact the President Bush actually is trying to do something about terrorism, which I42 was too busy to bother with. It's funny how the mainstream media is refering to Clinton's faux pas as sop with respect to the Bush administration. The democrats are so last century.
Thank you for your post, so very timely now. Fortunately, I learned long ago not to hold one's breath. Wondering now who a New York Times Reporter is trying to protect? Its now been proven that his trip was proposed and approved by his wife which he tried to deny and that his report was incorrect. Endangering Our National Security for political and personal gain is dispicable to be polite.
