Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

There has been a huge swing particularly in Guatamala (now with more Protestants than Catholics) and Brazil. But most Hispanics in America are Mexican, and the switch in that group comes from their American experience. Part of it is tied up with a desire for perceived upward mobility, and part of it because of matters of religious style preferences to which they are exposed.

Okay. Let me see if I can answer this.

First, I understand your point that "murder", defined as an immoral killing, can be misused. And my response to this is, "So what?" Howard Dean calls Republicans evil, and I don't see anyone telling us to stop using the word because Dean misused it. Michael Moore and Dean are not correct, because their statements are untrue. That they think they are correct does not make them so. I would not throw out "murder" because Moore uses it wrongly any more than I will throw out "evil" because Dean uses it wrongly.

As for what law abortion breaks: no American law. But it does break God's law, which states, "You shall not murder." American law will be abolished eventually. But God's law is eternal, and it matters more than any law a nation can come up with.

I realize that "murder" is a legal term, but I don't agree that using it in a moral sense is incorrect.

He's posted the exact same thing twice now. I can only infer that he is here to smear FR and Jim's good reputation. No one could seriously advocate destroying all Americans in order to not destroy a few and side with Al Qaeda to boot unless they were here just to give us a bad reputation.

Sounds right.

87% of whites in Tenn did not vote for Bush, or anywhere close to it, nor did they in Miss, although in the latter it was probably 80%.

Did you mean 'blacks'?

Seems like it would have been pretty tough to win those two states' electoral votes if you meant 'whites'.

Thank you for the understanding. The point was for those who were arguing that abortion is immoral because it is murder. All I'm asking is for them to elaborate on that and remove "murder" from the discussion. Can you define why abortion is immoral that will not allow for the killing of other innocents that we don't think is immoral (such as war-time collateral deaths)?

Bush did not win 87% of the white vote in either Tenn or Miss. In Tenn, maybe about 15% of the voters are black. In Miss, maybe 35%. You do the math, assuming maybe 10% of the black vote went to Bush.

Really?

Whites and blacks were almost exactly the opposite of each other in their voting preferences. Bush won whites 85 – 14. Blacks preferred Kerry 90 – 10. Though President Bush lost the black vote by a lopsided margin, he performed better among blacks than most Republicans by several percentage points.

There weren’t many surprises in the exit polls conducted in Mississippi on Election Day, but a few things stood out. White females were among President Bush’s strongest supporters in the Magnolia State, preferring Bush to Kerry by an 89 – 10 margin. White females even edged-out white, born-again evangelical Christians, who supported Bush over Kerry 88 – 12. White males voted for Bush over Kerry by 81 to 18 percent.

Whites in Mississippi supported W in a greater percentage than anywhere. South Carolina was second I think. Big surprise eh?

I woulda never ever thought of Tennessee...lord no. Tennessee is now arguably 20-30% Yankee interlopers. Ironically, without the the Unionist mountainous eastern third, the black belt of Memphis and West TN combined with the libs of greater Nashville and Tennessee would make us a toss up.

I live here but i am a Mississippian....before,now and forever.

I think those figures include all of those who did not vote at all, registered or unregistered, rather than just those who voted specifically against Bush.

Murder is the *deliberate* taking of human life. BIG difference.

"The first didn't do it out of Christ-like love, but a twisted sense of piety."

So you consider it "twisted piety" to sacrifice your life for your child's?

This child existed; he was alive, and to fight her cancer, she would have had to kill him. She decided to let him live, even if it cost her her life. Is that twisted piety?

She laid down her life for her baby. If that is not Christ-like love, humans are not capable of such love.

see post 1171 from magnoliareport.com

it's 85% OF Miss whites....I was off two points.

I won't argue the hispanic vote with Torie...it's still being fought about and on sites we aren't supposed to mention here...lol

But, that 40% of Hispanics now being Prods intrigued me.

Sure hope they aren't UCC or Disciples or Christ or PCUSA ..lol

Maybe you could call them 'terminations', as the abortion mills do.

Or 'liquidations', like the mob...

'Rubouts'? 'Unfortunate circumstances'? 'Mistakes'? 'Biological Mass Removal'?

But no matter what you call it, it is the unrighteous killing of an innocent boy or girl.

Forgive the rest of us, please, if we call it what English speakers have always called it: Murder.

According to this pre-election poll, Bush got 56% of the white vote in Tennesse and 11% of the black. Kerry got 38% of the white vote and 86% of the black.

I won't belabor the point. But that is not what you said.

87% of whites in Tenn did not vote for Bush, or anywhere close to it, nor did they in Miss, although in the latter it was probably 80%.

Who did they vote for, then?
