Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

Uh, those polls showed Bush losing the election in a landslide. Why do people still trust them? heh

The polls asked folks who voted for Bush why they voted for him. One of the top answers was conservative values.

The reason the polls got whacked was in my view on purpose to dissuade (R) voters that all was lost early on. They cherry picked women and minorities on purpose. But that does not change the answers does it from Bush voters?

Hey back.

Cubans swung to Kerry by a bit (check out Dade county). Bush went from 34% to about 40% with Hispanics ( I know that figure is real, because I have looked at some Hispanic counties and precincts, and that is my best judgment, and in rural Rio Grande Texas the swing hit 15% or more in some places), and from 19% to 25% with Jews (I checked out Jewish precincts in NY and Florida just as a check, and the swing was real). My cohort is upper middle class secular urban Yankee WASPS. That cohort was not a Bush growth industry.

By the way, the swing to Bush among Protestant Hispanics was massive. And what percentage of Hispanics in the US who vote are Protestant? 40%. Write that down. 40%.

Dan.

So far I see no one worth a crap to support. W pisses me off sometimes but he beats all the contenders to be sure.

Santorum broke weak on Spinchter.

McCainiac...lord.

Rudy....good cop style mayor but no way....social lib.

De Lay?....maybe for a term limits dictator..lol

Newt?....crackerjack smart but not much charisma....

so far, about all i can say is shame Cheney has health issues.

Frist and Romney are weak appearing.

Racicot and Keating don't want it.

RINO Ahnold can't.

Allen of VA.....I don't know.

Haley of my homestate was a big lobbyist...that hurts but he is a tough affable bulldog.

I think Bayh/Obama are the Dems personally. With Dean at DNC, H is waning.

I'll wait for the explanation before I make a decision about
Rice running for President.

There's just not enough information about Rice's capability
to actually run the office, and not just running for office.

Eggs and chickens come to mind here, and I believe that some
people here are making too many assumptions about any future
candidate this early in the Presidential term.

Go have a starbucks and buy an almanac for crying out loud.
Spring is hovering over the horizon.

Most folks don't realize it, but there has been a huge swing from Catholicism to Protestantism in Latin America for a couple of decades.

It shouldn't be surprising to anyone that that translates to Hispanics who now make their home in North America.

“I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights,” Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded.

87% of whites in Tenn did not vote for Bush, or anywhere close to it, nor did they in Miss, although in the latter it was probably 80%.

I'll go further: I would prefer that 300 million Americans die at the hands of Al Qaeda rather than electing a Republican who is "mildly pro-choice".

You cannot possibly be serious.

She is wrong on this issue.

I will not vote for a pro-abortion presidential ticket.

Nice analysis.

The situation is bleak, I agree.

No one has shown me much as yet.
