Hey, that's OK with me! If you want to identify with a liberal it's your choice. The fact that he's married for 50 years to the same woman, donates to good causes etc, and is apparently doing good for those in need is all OK too, but he's still an outspoken liberal. Actually, I'm pleased Newman does donate to good causes. Rush donates all kinds of money to various charities and speaks the truth about liberals. The truth especially hurts liberals, including the Hollyweirds and their apologists.

When we disagree with a star, why does it always get personal about their career. A has-been? Paul Newman is a legend. And he's an extremely charitable person. You can disagree with him, but still respect them for their achievements.

My favorite Newman film characters of the past 15 years, IMHO

Major General Leslie Grove, director of the Manhattan Project, in Fat Man and Little Boy.

John Rooney, mob boss, in Road to Perdition.

Sully Sullivan, rascally ne'er-do-well, in Nobody's Fool.

Oh I forgot about Nobody's Fool--excellent film. He was nominated for best actor as I recall, but lost to Tom Hanks (Forest Gump).

Great Post.

Newman is no dunce. He's been supporting left-wing causes (including the ACLU) for 50 Years.

It allows people in government to do pretty much what they want."

Well, Mr. Newman who sent those people in the Government to do what they "want"? It is called "ELECTION" Mr. Newman, In case you forgot, while busy in the racing industry as of late.

For the people, by the people, whatever people does not apply since we are a "Representative Republic".
BTW we are not that stupid as you might think! Racing cars/making movies does not enhance your IQ.

Why the hell did you had to open your mouth at 80. I had such a deep respect for your life long achievements as a individual.

Dear Paul: We ARE paying attention, and the media IS nasty. As a matter of fact, they are too nasty and they are putting this country in danger. You just retire to some farm somewhere where you can cause little trouble. You are not equipped to deal with world affairs.

I already am senile, but not to the point where I'm no longer aware of my mind slipping.

Respect your "elders" is a motto to live by. But we have to admit that a wacko liberal who's going senile is a dangerous concept, gasoline on the fire.

I agree. You don't see the popular stars as activist. I think they throw a vew crumbs to their colleagues but when it come down to it...the who's who list of activist actors and actress is a list of "who are these people"... since many have been out of work so long.
