Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- A California businessman has offered Terri Schiavo's estranged husband $1 million to not starve her to death and to transfer legal guardianship for her to Terri's family.
Robert Herring, Sr., lives in San Diego and is the founder of WEALTHTV, a lifestyle and entertainment television channel. He also spent more than 30 years in the electronics industry as the founder and owner of HERCO Technology, which he later sold to a larger firm.
Herring contacted infamous attorney Gloria Allred to pay Michael Schiavo $1 million if he complies with Herring's request.
"After viewing video of Terri on television, I came to the belief that there was hope for her," Herring said in a statement Thursday. "As events have proceeded in the legal battle, it became clear to me that if something was not done for Terri, that all hope for her would be lost."
The money has been placed in a a trust account operated by Allred on Wednesday and the attorney sent a letter to Michael Thursday morning comunicating the offer.
There is no word on whether Michael will accept the offer. Should he do so, courts will still need to sign off on changing legal guardian ship for Terri.
Herring said he acted now because he is worried that Florida courts will not turn back on their decision to allow Michael to starve Terri to death next week.
"With a date of March 18th quickly approaching, and no other viable hope for Terri to be able to keep her feeding tube, I felt compelled to act," he said.
Allred confirmed Herring's rationale.
"It now appears that the court process is ending, and that the legislative process has failed to stop the removal of the feeding tube," she said.
"He recognizes that unless something is done immediately, Terri Schiavo is not likely to survive very long," Allred added. "Knowing that time is of the essence and realizing that he is fortunate enough to be able to help, he has decided to take action.".
Allred was the attorney for Amber Frey in the infamous Scott Peterson trial. Frey had an affair with Scott during the time he killed Laci and Conner Peterson.
I mention this a lot, so if anyone has heard me mention it before, I apologize for the repeat. I have a friend who's daughter is on a feeding tube. She may some day be trained to swallow, but right now has a possibility of suffocating if she tries to swallow. The feeding tube my friend's daughter has is a contraption on the belly. The only time it is "hooked up" is during the times the girl is fed.
He's not the only one who said it. Two other people also testified, and the judge believed them.
She's already brain dead. She won't feel a thing.
Honestly, I think a lot more people would have been more sympathetic to Michael if he had done this years ago before telling a jury he needed money to take care of Terri for the rest of HIS (Michael's) life. It seems a bit suspicious to get the money, then not long after stop even basic hygeine care for her and say, "Oh. I forgot. She once said she wants to die."
You are right. No one has done an interview since Larry King with HINO. When this info came out - guess what...HINO called the morning MJ show (local dj in Tampa Bay area) The DJ has an afternoon show called the Schnitt Show that is on right now, he just replayed the interview. Of course out of HINO's mouth was....I won't take the money, I was offered 10 million last week. I only want to carry out my wife's wishes. And he further said that only proves to those that I am not in it for the money.
I believe that's another point of contention in this case.
You have to follow the dots. It was the Judge who made error of claiming Quinlan was already dead before the conversation . He was mistaken about Quinlan's death which indeed occurred AFTER Terri told her fried she though Quinlan's parrents were wrong to remove her life-support. You just repeated the Judges error. When he was corrected in the request for appeal on this specific point he refused the appeal without regard to his mistake. The other two people you refer to were relatives of Hubby. But I suspect you know this.
I am of the opinion now that LilAngel (FR as of 02/28/05) is a shill for Michael and should probably be ignored.
You have to remember that it was her HUSBAND that said she "didn't want to live like that". At the time she said that, food and water WERE NOT considered life support. After Michael got the award money to take care of her for the rest of his life, he and Felos pushed thru a bill (I think it was in 1996-98) to have food and water classified as life support. Can you imagine?? Food and water?? If that's the case, I guess we are ALL (the whole human race) is on "life support"! And this stands as a law in Florida. What a hell hole!

This video that you are referring to....I was there at the Hospice last time the tube was pulled, it was lightly raining, the Schindlers announced that had something to show us so I stood there in the rain...waiting to see what they had. The media was there, swarming all over the place. A video player was set up, someone held an umbrella over it, they showed this video to us. Bob Schindler admitted he had "snuck this small camera under his shirt and took this video of his daughter interacting with her mom". I teared up watching this and looking at Mary standing there cant imagine how she felt that her daughter was in there starving at that time. I left and went to McDonalds, saw this video on local news. Within several hours Greer mandated that the Schindlers could not see her for taking these videos.
LilAngel(ofDeath)'s insistence on her point of view, completely ignorant of the facts, yet still arguing against them because she just "feels" like she knows the real truth...
