Liberal Lunatic of the Day (3/11/2005)

Sharon McPhail, Democrat and Detroit councilwoman, may be a racist or just plain stupid. But for sure, she's a liar, according to The Detroit News.

Harsh words, yes. But there's no way to sugar-coat the Detroit councilwoman's character lapses. To do so would be a disservice to the voters of Detroit, who will see McPhail's name on their mayoral ballot this fall.

McPhail participated in a recent dinner sponsored by the Call 'Em Out Coalition, a racist hate group dedicated to divisiveness and separatism. Specifically, she helped hand out the group's Sambo Sell Out awards, given to black officials whom the group decides are too cozy with whites.

This year's top award went to Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Also dishonored at the dinner were Detroit businessman and National Basketball Association Hall of Famer Dave Bing, apparently for his efforts to give Detroit's schoolchildren a brighter future; schools chief Kenneth Burnley, who has poured his soul into the thankless task of reviving the city's school system; and McPhail's fellow council member, Lonnie Bates, who received the "I Talk Black but Vote White" award. We can think of a number of dubious awards for which Bates might qualify, but that one escapes us.

Councilwoman McPhail, as someone who is supposed to represent the entire city, all races and ethnic groups, had no business at a dinner sponsored by a group whose mission is rooted in racism. This goes beyond poor judgment and into the realm of gross stupidity.

Her explanation that the dinner was a good-natured "roast" of politicians doesn't fly. Bing is not a politician; he's a businessman trying to do something positive in the city.

This episode caps a bizarre career for McPhail in which she repeatedly has had to explain away goofy and inappropriate behavior.

There was, for example, her accusation that Kilpatrick had hot-wired her City Council chair; the near fisticuffs with the late Councilwoman Kay Everett during a public meeting, and her campaign against former Mayor Dennis Archer, whom she labeled the white man's candidate.

She claims not to be a nut, but she keeps acting like one. And yet in the current mayoral campaign, she asks Detroiters to "erase what you think you know about Sharon McPhail." It is impossible to erase those negative impressions when McPhail keeps reinforcing them.

But then she went on the radio Wednesday morning, telling WCHB's Mildred Gaddis that she never said what she said. She accused The Detroit News of making it all up. Sharon McPhail is a liar. She is also apparently a racist. And not too bright.

It amazes me that a Democrat can make any kind of racially offensive remark and the party and African-American community has nothing to say. Yet, when a Republican says anything that can be twisted into a racial remark the scream of outrage can be heard across the country.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton joked that Mahatma Gandhi used to run a gas station in St. Louis.

Howard Dean delivered a racially offensive joke when he said, "You'd think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here."

"The president was barely in better voice than [Chief Justice William] Rehnquist, with his simian lips tripping workmanlike over his prose."  African American columnist and Democrat, Les Payne said.

Senator Robert Byrd waxed eloquently when he said, "There are white niggers. I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time; I'm going to use that word."

U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown during a Washington briefing on the Haiti crisis 11/30/2004, calling the president's policy on the beleaguered nation "racist" and his representatives "a bunch of white men." Her outburst was directed at Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega, the State Department's top official for Latin America. Noriega later told Brown: "As a Mexican-American, I deeply resent being called a racist and branded a white man." Brown then told him "you all look alike to me."

All Democrats. All highly offensive. They crucified Trent Lott for a lot less.

Every segregationist who ever served in Congress was a Democrat. The Democratic Party is the party of slavery and segregation and has a guilty past. The Republican Party, which was founded explicitly to fight slavery, and which has remained true to its founding principles, does not.

How about John Kerry giving the black power salute every time he talked to black groups? He did it every single time he was in front of blacks like he was Malcolm X or something, and they said absolutely nothing. Imagine Bush doing that? They would immediately say he was mocking them, but Bush wouldn`t be mocking them. Bush is real, and would do it only for good reason. Kerry isn`t real, he`s a phony POS. It was Kerry who was doing the mocking and he proved it when he said he would be the second black President after Clinton. I mean what is that suppose to mean "second black President after Clinton"? You`re a rich white asshole from Massachussets you freggin` putz. You know absolutely nothing about what it means to be black.

She will ge a pass on this. But if someone on the right tried such a thing, the caterwauling would go on for weeks and weeks, apologies would be demanded, sensitivity training sessions would have to be attended, and the offender would have to make the rounds and abase themselves. All too typical hypocrisy.

Is this an actual racist group that is commonly known as such? Or is this just another typical organization devoted to racism and separatism like the NAACP. I'd call them racist, but they aren't considered racist by the hand full of clowns that control all mass media flow into this country

My read on this group is that its function is to keep blacks in line. Kinda remind them "where they belong", in the Democratic Party.

The last thing the Dems want is African-Americans thinking for themselves.

Yep! Charles Barron. He's a total racist who always seems to get a pass at the ridiculous and insulting things he says. He's smug and thoroughly disgusting IMHO. Plus he's as leftist as they come. He's running for mayor of MYC this year.

Check this out to see his wacky mindset and leftist platform:

Also, check this out to see his thoughts on "Ebonics":

Lonnie Bates, who received the "I Talk Black but Vote White" award.

Wonder who won the honorary "Robert C. Byrd White Nigger" Award.
