This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

"If he's in a trunk does that mean he has an accomplice hiding him or did the police find him in a trunk hiding?"The HOSTAGE is in thetrunk, not the bad guy. The bad guy is driving the car and the presumed owner of the car is locked in the trunk. By the way, minimizes the chance of police firing on the fleeing vehicle.

Besides, I am a court reporter; they probably would have excused me for that anyway. So this is a little close to home for you, isn't it?

I just heard about this story and I'm in Atlanta. Jeez, a story happens in Baghdad and I find out about it quicker than when it happens in my own backyard.
I had jury duty at this courthouse a few months ago. Actually, I wasn't chosen. It was pretty funny though. I am basically the only white face in the room. I go to the courthouse in a nice suit and heels. I am so out of place.
During the voir dire portion lawyers asked the others questions about crime and how it personally related to their families. Every one in that room had a relative in prison or at one time in prison. They get to me and the lawyer actually laughed and asked me some softball question about my feelings on the death penalty of all things. Only question I got. I was dismissed.

True...we don't know how many times these people were shot. I did hear empty rounds were on the outside of the courthouse

'Impartial' and 'fair' may be two different things. If your instincts told you the lawsuit was frivolous, and the evidnce confirmed your suspicions, it would have been fair to society and the defendent if you had found against the plaintiff.

Well, at least you are honest. And I had to say it in the courtroom, in front of everybody. I felt like I had one of those "police grilling lights" pointed right at me.
I had to be honest with myself and I knew I couldn't possibly put aside how I felt.

I hope someone gets the idea to get people to boycott en masse showing up for jury duty until they improve security and stop the politically-correct mindset.

Fulton County probably carries .40 Glock or S&W semi-autos, so it is most likely uses a magazine with up to 17 rounds.

I wonder if this means if they have the car in sight. Appears as though there was a witness to carjacking...
Source
The suspect ran to a Centennial Olympic Park parking deck and stole a Mazda Tribute with the license plate 4643 ABW, according to police.
The suspect drove to Combs Street and went into a second parking garage. A witness told police that the suspect put a gun to a woman's head and stole her vehicle, a 1997 grey or green Honda Accord with the license plate 6584YN.

Fos keeps reporting that Atlanta schools are in lock down.
Fulton County schools (Atlanta is in Fulton) are OFF today. It is a teacher workday.

What's interesting is they found a shank in this guy's shoe/boot this week. What's hard to understand is why he wasn't shackled today when coming in the courtroom.

They may dismiss you for a lot of reasons, but I still would stand by my point. I hate to see people making excuses to not participate at all in the system.
