This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
Haaaaa!
My neice has her degree from Kutztown...small world!
aaah, some of us ain't too bad... :) I work for a golf apparel company that it's warehouse, customer service, emb. etc are done down in Vidalia, Ga. If you can stand the smell of the onions, it could be one of the friendliest towns I've ever visited. My experience is most of the south is like that, I love going down there.
I was lost on my first visit and went into (forget what they're called down there but a small convenience store and when I walked in the clerk (a male) just jumped down off the counter with a "hey, how you doin' today, ok??". Definitley ashamed to say my first move was checking, my wallet, where's the closest door (in case I need to get out fast), and why would he want to know that???
Part of that is obviously a little exagerrated, but not much. I do wish we had a little southern hospitality and general politeness up here... :)
Sometimes it's quite an eyeopener, eh?
Since he was well over 200 pounds and she was 5 ft. tall 51 yr. old woman, there was the possibility of him overpowering her on the skywalk towards the courtroom.
He took his opportunity before they began their walk.
No mention of the idiocy of having a small woman in charge of a 6ft. 200 lb. rapist.
I haven't had a chance to read through this since mhking's last ping to me, but it seems to me that if the Honda is still in the garage, then he has another vehicle. With no report of another carjacking, this means that the car owner is more than likely a hostage. This would explain why they have been announcing that if someone has a family member/friend that is missing, please call the sherrif immediately.
Or this was well planned and he had someone waiting to pick him up.
Channel 2 news just reported a customs agent was found dead in Atlanta this morning.
The customs agent truck, gun, and badge are gone.
I've lived in the South all of my life and can't imagine living anywhere else. Recently an Australian author came to Alabama and had her car stolen. Anyway she said the people in the parking lot came to her aid, gave her money, found her room and board, bought her a meal, etc. She said the experience was so heartwarming and overwhelming that she was applying for citizenship and moving to Alabama. :) We're not perfect but I do believe the majority of the south believes in the golden rule.
Oh, that's a great poster; if you ever read up on lynchings, Texas was number 3, so hey, with legal executions they are number one! Ever wonder why they need 'em Podner?
Did you see the video on CNN. No one is in the garage. No one is chasing him? I though PA cops were keystone cops. I hope they get him because I can only imagine the fear that the good people in Georgia have right now.
Got it. Badge is missing.
The truck was found on Lenox Road in Atlanta. This would be near Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza Mall in Buckhead. The two together are the largest shopping center area in the Southeast. The area is also near an entrance to GA 400, a toll highway running northward to I-285, and southward to I-85.
Blue 1994 Chevrolet Pickup Truck is being sought; GA tag APG 6121
How horrible all of this is! Please be careful. I have a sister who lives in GA and I can't help being worried for them.
WOW! Definitely, reversed a negative experience for her...
Woman or not, even a 50-year-old man only 5 feet tall, would have been stupidly inadequate. Kind of like...uh...give me a example of small older well man, please.
