Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)

This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

That is horrible. I'm so sorry.

Holy sh*t! Jury nullification in action.
To: HighFlier
Oh, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother.
That justice was not served only aggravates the sadness.

would thugs help him , or is he "too hot" for even bad guys to help him?
Or, the fact he killed a judge , put him higher in the "ranks' & the thugs admire it?

IMO, there are plenty of reasons why there should be more than one deputy present whether that deputy is male or female.

All it takes is one stubborn juror to produce a hung verdict. The more women you have on the jury, the more likely a rape defendant will walk.

Can you imagine how the ex-girlfriend is feeling? Having been raped and kidnapped, and held for three days. Then hearing he has gone on this rampage, knowing she had probably at one time enjoyed his company. Oh wow. I wonder if he has children somewhere, if police are going to see them, family members, etc. and giving them protection. It seems no one would be safe.
You were a DA? Asst. DA? Where?

I'd concur there should be more than one deputy present. I think they should both be large people capable of scuffling with buff 6', 200#, male.
Somehow, I'm guessing most of the female Fulton County Sheriff's Deputies don't make the grade.

Local news is showing a lot of police converging around Avondale Estates. My brother in law and his familiy live in this area.
Avondale Estates is on the east side of Atlanta in Dekalb County. If memory serves me correctly the city jail is also located on the otskirts of Avondale.

Yes, I'm watching Fox but know nothing about where/why the choppers are. Someone earlier said there were a bunch of police officers around Georgia Tech, I believe, but I haven't heard anything more.

Bro in law was on a rape jury. Of course, the woman juror felt that the victim was at fault because she carried her coat over her arm rather than wearing it and covering her waitress uniform.

Apologies for my earlier poor taste. First post pulled since 5-98.
Won't happen again.

Judge Napolitano just said that the Feds will be after him, too, for murdering an officer of the court to influence the outcome...something like that.
Every cop in Atlanta, as well as the Feds, every off-duty cop, every retired cop everywhere in Georgia will be looking for this guy. The heat is on, and it won't take long until they find him.
It could be that he's holed up with some hostages somewhere, using force to hide himself; I doubt there are more than one or two people in the whole city of Atlanta who would actually willingly hide him. Black people don't want the trouble associated with this guy any more than white people would.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, HF.
Why do you suppose the jury acquited him?

Isn't Mule Day in Calvary?Yes, but Ochlocknee and Calvary are both 'suburbs' of Cairo, although I don't recall if Ochlocknee is in Grady county or just across the line. I'd guess Ochlocknee and Calvary to be about 20 miles apart.
