This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Sweet. My better half and the little ones are at Ft. Riley waiting for me to finish my year long vacation in the Land Of The Morning Calm.

A fulton county judge is also saying that Nichols came through Judge Barnes' back door.
I keep hearing reference that he was being held in the Jury room before the trial began and that is where all of this started.

WOW
I live in Forsyth and am in Alpharetta/Roswell all the time. I thought he looked familiar, not from UPS, but I have seen him somewhere.
Now it is going to drive me crazy.

The .40 S&W is a cut down version of the 10MM. Severely underpowered, not much better than a .38. I'd have to disagree pretty strongly there. Its essentially the same load as what the FBI was getting in their 10MMs, since the full load had too much recoil for good follow-up shots. They figured out a load that worked really well, then created the 40MM around those numbers. Its not underpowered at all. But, this probably isn't the thread to get into it...

They are still looking for him. They found one of his get-a-way vehicles, supposedly. Seems to be a great deal of confusion on the part of those directing the search.
I'll check back in later. Been at work for five hours and haven't actually done anything yet.

Maybe as a guide to thousands of new people joining this thread, either posters or lurkers, other posters might put:
[NEW INFORMATION]: at the beginning of their post when they are simply going to relay on something new, some NEWS or REPORTS they've heard or seen.
Other comments (like the 70-80% of them, i.e. mine) that is just talking on with other points, could go on as-is as a post.
This might help new readers to this thread scroll and surf easily, and really catch up on the LATEST re: this fast moving story in Georgia.....not a sermon, just a thought!

Hasn't this sh** happened before, where a defendant pulls a guard's gun? Procedures need to be changed.
