(Admin Moderator -- please leave in Breaking News. Hannity holding up a FReeper sign is big breaking news after the recent little battle.)
===================================================
FReeper blurblogger just dropped me off a few minutes ago. We were at the 4-hour event in Redondo Beach, CA put on by the KABC talk show hosts.
When blurblogger gets home, he will be posting an amazing photo. He and I are in a picture with Sean Hannity, and Sean is holding up a sign that says I LOVE FREEPERS.
What a fun event. Doug McIntyre, Larry Elder, Al Rantel, Mr. KABC, Sean Hannity, and new overnight host Kevin James put on a great show for us. There were some sparks between McIntyre and Elder over free trade, outsourcing, and tariffs. There were also some sparks involving the lone liberal on the stage, Mr. KABC.
There were boos when DemocRATS were mentioned.
Although we disagree politically, I am going to give big kudos to the MC, Brian Whitman. Brian is indeed a lovable liberal. He was a little upset a few weeks ago when someone reported to him that I had called him a Kneepad Knight. Hey, it was in good fun. Just like Monica was literally on her kneepads, the liberals were figuratively doing the same for their guy. Brian accepted my explanation, and we are friends again.
For those who listen to Hannity on Friday afternoon, it is Brian Whitman doing the voices of Bush 41, Bush 43, Michael Jackson, and the guy who got impeached. Brian is funny as hell and is a great talent. If more libs had his talent and sense of humor, perhaps we would get along better. His Michael Jackson stuff is superb.
Blurblogger brought some sign material in his car, and got it and his magic marker at a break. We managed to eventually work our way to a front row seat and were in position to get with Hannity at a break. I introduced myself as FReeper Doug, and he asked why I haven't called in for awhile. Hey, I've tried, but the line is always busy.
Sean autographed blurblogger's I LOVE FREEPERS sign, and a guy took our picture with Sean holding it.
Look, if someone comes on this thread to bash Hannity, I am going to find you and rip your throat out. Really. Go do your own thread. Yes, Sean promotes his books. Good for him. That's capitalism, and you would promote yours if you had a book and marketing sense. I promoted my book, A CHILD'S EYE VIEW OF JOHN KERRY, by giving a few copies to them.
Sean is a great ally on our side. He exposes the left's hypocrisy, uses their own words against them, and gets in their faces. He also has helped raise millions of dollars for families of fallen warriors.
Good news for us, uncleshag. Sean is waiting for his copy of YOU'VE BEEN FREEPED, Vol. 1. So is Whitman.
By far the biggest round of applause during the evening was for a member of the audience. Captain Michael Pierce is returning to Mosul on Friday. He thought he had a month off, but they cut it two weeks short. There was a big time standing O for the captain. At the end of the program, he was called up on stage. Michael happened to be at the Hollywood FReep recently. Godspeed, Michael. Go kick some more butt and make it home safely.
Did any other FReepers attend?
Stay tuned. The picture will probably be up by about midnight.
Just heard you on Hannity, great job. I didn't know that was Brian Whitman who does the impersonations for Sean on Friday's. He's really good. I listen to Brian once in awhile, he's not too bad. Can't wait to see the pics of Sean. Lucky you!
Way to go Doug. Just heard you on the show!
I also didn't know Brian Whitman did the Friday Hannity voices! Cool gig for him! I love his Al Rantel. Wish I could have been there last night.
Yo Doug, outstanding on your call with Sean a few minutes ago! Yeah, you are right as previously posted ealier in this thread. We have to remember that Sean is on the same team as Free Republic. Thanks again for posting the pictures.
I heard Sean talking to someone named Doug and I knew it had to be you!
I sat out in the parking lot in the cold listening until you were done. :o)
You made me PROUD to have an acquaintence with you!
You're too kind. I lived my first five years in Cleveland, and thank goodness that my parents had the good sense to move to the West Coast. :) I remember cold and hailstorms.
He's not a simpson....
You're all GREAT AMERICANS!
I think that's the funniest thing ever! ROTFL
That's the first time I've seen Sean holding a pen when one of his books wasn't under it....
hehehe
