Drummers...Drummers...Hmmmm

Isn't that the description of someone that hangs out with musicians?

I remember that old joke and take issue with it. Not to put too fine a point on it but a drummer has got to be twice the musician other musicians have to be. And I play guitar!

Drummers do a lot more work putting across a song than even the rhythm player does. They have to keep time as well as introduce and resolve various other players parts. Often this is accomplished by his doing TWO or THREE or FOUR different things at once. (left hand, right hand left foot, right foot)Try to find anyone that can do that without his timekeeping wobbling a bit. It's hard to find such a musician.

The drummer of Rush does about 15 things at once. He's amazing!

Amen. Rush rules. But as far as guitarists go...he is pretty damn close to being a rocket scientist.

Rush is a great band, I have always considered Geddy Lee - base, and Neal Pert - drums, as the best in the business on their instuments, however, if Lifeson is wrong he is wrong.

Excellent Guitar! Excellent Bass! Excellentt Drums - To bad they couldn't hire a front man and get rid of the falsetto voice though.

Most likely he's a fan of Elvis Costello. Or the Dead Milkmen. ;)
