Trying real hard not to lose cool . . .

I hope this is only rumor. Really, really, really hoping.
But knowing CU ... this is probably true.

Keep Churchill and just make his life miserable. Don't give him a dime...

However much money they give Churchill, they should lose ten times as much from their annual funding.

Another reason Academia needs to change. It is an irresponsible, autonomic cancer. In my state - United Soviet Socialists of Washington State - we just gave an ex-football coach at UW over $4 million because he lied and got fired.

Unbelievable, if true.

And the people who work hard to pay the tuition will be getting a rebate commensurate with the amount of money paid to this hatemonger?

Out of state enrollment applications are off by 17% compared to last year at CU. Out of state students pay approximately 5 times the amount of in state tuition.
If a buyout is made I hope and expect that number to rise significantly.

What a frightened, pansy institution. It frustrates me to no end that we have allowed things to get to the point that the mere threat of litigation in this country is potent enough to result in a buyout of this magnitude. We need to reform the legal system somehow.
Remember back in the day when a common response to a small dispute was, "So sue me!"
Notice how nobody ever says that anymore? We're all running scared, and it pisses me off.

...CU's buyout offer will be in the "$3-$5 million range ...
Just plain stupid. Why not do something with him like anti-virus software does with viruses...put him over in a 'Quarantine File'? Lots cheaper to pay him an annual salary to do absolutely nothing, which isn't appreciatively less than what he's doing now.
Anyway, when a public institution contemplates spending this kind of dough, shouldn't they put the 'contract' up for competitive bidding? Or maybe they could work out a 'trade' w/ UC-Berkley--Churchill for a janitor. /s

He could print his own money, from what I've seen of his artwork he could be a pretty fair counterfeiter.

It's going to persuade a lot of other faculty to make themselves persona non grata, and get a nice payout.
