A wealthy businessman who hosted a fraudulent fund-raiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton pleaded guilty yesterday to an unrelated federal securities fraud scheme.....
Peter Paul, a potential key witness in the fund-raising case, faces 10 years in jail for stock fraud after deceiving investors who put money into his Stan Lee Media company.....to promote characters from Marvel Comics group.
.....Paul vowed to testify against Clinton's former finance director, who was indicted for lying to authorities about the cost of a party Paul hosted for Clinton.
David Rosen, a Chicago entrepreneur who was finance director of Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign, was charged with filing false reports to the Federal Elections Commission to cover up the costs of an Aug. 12, 2000 concert and dinner.

Juicy details about this case are to be found in the book written by Peter Paul's then-associate, Aaron Tonken entitled, "King of Cons." Now in jail, Tonken's adventures in Hollyweird are hilarious. He relates the slimy details of craven, greedy celebs who demanded expensive jewelry, suites and private planes to show-up at fund-raisers for various charities. The self-absorbed "stars" with the gimmees also got publicity for their "compassion and (gag) charitable works." More details on the shady Hil fund-raising scheme here:
BACKSTORY Hillary aide pleads not guilty
Associated Press | 24 Jan 05
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's former campaign finance director pleaded not guilty Monday to federal charges he deliberately underreported the amount raised at a Hollywood gala for the senator in 2000. David Rosen, 40, of Chicago was released for a trial March 22 in Los Angeles. But his attorney, Paul Mark Sandler, said he planned to ask that the case be moved to Washington. Rosen is charged with four counts of filing false reports with the Federal Election Commission. Each count carries up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines. Sandler said after the hearing that Rosen "looks forward to his day in court to get this matter behind him."

As Rush occasionally asks, how many people do you know who were murdered or indicted, prosecuted and convicted?

I'm just so afraid, this will "tarnish" the new "image" Hillary is getting ready for 2008.
She's got four years to make people think she's Mother Teresa. Hillary's gonna be mighty busy with her Extreme Makeover. The question is ---in light of the resounding 2004 Values Voters Victories---how "conservative" will Hillary get?
After she opens a charge at Wal-Mart, enrolls in divinity school, and gets a lifetime membership in the John Birch Society, she'll need to get a shopper's card at Sam's Club, and schedule daily morning prayer services in her Senate office.
And just to make sure she covers all bases, Bill will take an anti-adultery pledge in the vestibule of the National Cathedral, when Hillary takes her minister's vows.
Oh, and Hillary will campaign for 2008 wearing the official DNC apron,
give Easy-Bake oven cookie demonstrations, while showing-off her Annie
Oakley sharpshooting.
