The Washington Times) ^ | March 5, 2005 | Arnaud de Borchgrave

No one noticed as Turkey, an erstwhile ally, nabbed the gold medal recently in the global anti-American stakes.

Mercifully, half the 22,000 people surveyed in 21 countries by the BBC around the world did not agree, "America's influence on the world is very negative."

What Europeans think does not matter. For to quote Stalin's reply when told the Pope disapproved of his foreign policy

"How many divisions does the Pope have?"

Do they only take polls asking what people think about the US? Do they ever take polls asking what people think of Turkey or France or Nauru?

The next time there is an earth quake or disaster in Turkey the USA should not send a dime. In fact the USA should pull all of our troops out of Turkey, stop sending them aid and tell the Turks that no further aid will be coming to them when they need help -- which they will need help in the future.

Ever since Turkey said no to USA troops before the Iraq invasion I wanted to give the Kurds a nation -- who cares what the Turks think.

By the way how come not one arab nation screams about a Kurdish nation - but they scream about a palestinian homeland and there are no such things as palestinians?

They're just pissed that we won't allow them to bully the Kurds.

The feeling is reciprocated. The Turks and the EU deserve one another.

Have you ever stopped to wonder if any catastrophe occurred in the states and we needed aid what would happen? We are such chumps.
