Any fight over Taiwan would be a Naval engagement, which we have plenty of. Defense of the island would be carried out by Taiwan troops.

Is there some other place for a half dozen carrier groups to go?

Our ground forces maybe, but the Navy and Air Force got nothing to do right now.

Wouldn't our armed forces be spreading too thin? In a nuclear environment, you would want to spread out as thin as possible.

A couple or three Carrier battle groups sitting between the main land and Tiwan would be all that's necessary to ensure China does nothing.
This would not tie down our troops very much at all.

We could get 25 to 75 million troops but thats when the draft will come into play... American naval power is too powerful for china to handle. With our air force up here in alaska on alert. We could destroy china with in 2 years..... unless they go nuclear
