More importantly, he did no have what it took, or the influence to raise the cash.

>Well, Cortez was in Mexico in the 16th Century.

It was a joke. Maybe a bad one, but an attempt at one.

There are many people who would do a geat job, but don't have what it takes to raise millions of dollars to run campaigns these days. It is a damn shame that only the wealthy & those who are able to get money from the wealthy are able to run....it ensures that only the corrupt will get elected.

Or, it ensures that a person who can be influential in the business community rises to the top.

most people i know have stopped listening to the john show.

i listented to the tape. it was john that used the term "melt down".

i'm not so sure that's what happened. that hahn didn't out-shout john is not a necessarily bad thing.

Reminds me of the time that Chrissy Matthews tried to pull his usual shout down stunt on Zell Miller...

You believe what you like, but the best & brightest do not go into politics.

i threw my tv in the dumpser 11 years ago, during the clingon presidency. it was driving me up the wall that abccbscnnnbc didn't investigate the clingons. we only have an adversary media during a republican administration!

I didn't say the best and the brightest went into politics as a calling as a regular thing.
I said the ones who have the stuff to influence others and businesses to raise funds win the races.
That means they have to be fairly sharp, have a personality and ability to develope influence and connections.

The odd bird through labor gets through once in a while with a built in vote though.

"That means they have to be fairly sharp, have a personality and ability to develope influence and connections."

Then why do 95% seem so stupid, bland & clueless?

Most are not.

At a bare minimum, they are good one on one.

They are not stupid either, just are big advocates for what could be stupid politics IMO.

I listened to the exchange, and I wouldn't be sure that I heard
Hahn cry. . He did get worked up tryying to keep up the
exchange with his host however, and his voice got dusky and
slightly edgy...more reminiscient of the way you get before
you start duking it out with somebody...
But even though I enjoy John and Ken cause they say what they
believe (even though I don't always agree with them), I
thought the host was extremely rude, and he started the
yelling. I actually thought Hahn was trying to bring out
his factual points, and the host was lambasting him for
not fixing LA Traffic....I kinda felt like Hahn has done
an OK job (considering he is still a miserable Democrat),
even though he kowtows to the government leeches.

Personally, I would like to see a take charge kinda, business
guy like Dick Riordan show up...Wonder if Guiliani would
move out here....or Tom McClintock...man I wish he would move
to L.A. and sort this stupid, disorganized morass of a city out...

It's hard to kake out what Hahn is saying with John screaming at the top of his lungs like that.

Well, Hahn deserves it. The guy has two Federal investigations going on for his pay for play policies.

He is the LA Gray Davis!
