"We are concerned, Homeland Security is concerned about special interest aliens entering the United States," Mueller said, using a term for people from countries where al-Qaida is known to be active. Prove it. End the flood of illegal immigration from Mexico.

dang! I thought for a second that someone in our national security apparatus might finally be concerned with the special interest groups that aid & abet criminal invaders. Guess not.
To: BurbankKarl
Why would they use fake identities? It would be safer just to walk across the border.

I'm not sure I'll notice any difference between being murdered by a terrorist or an MS-13 gangbanger.
STOP THE ILLEGAL INVASION!

Well shaaaaaazzam! All this time, many on FR and a few politicians have been saying close the border already, and now we have this little gem. If anyone is surprised, they should be checked for a pulse.

I can't help but see this as CYA,musical chairs/shell game,...as they keep streaming in, the finger pointing goes on,...another layer of "is not my job,man"

in some instances people with Middle Eastern names have adopted Hispanic last names
Yeh, look for suspicious names, such as Achmed Gonzales Jones.
===
Loy said there's no conclusive evidence that al-Qaida operatives have entered the country via Mexico.
So, Loy, what do you consider to be 'conclusive evidence'? A building blown up? A thousand innocent Americans killed in a terrorist act? Loy, you obviously have your head buried either in the sand or up your own rear.
===
"We intend to develop and implement a state-of-the-art case management system," Mueller said.
Intend to develop and implement? When???? After the next major attack? After the 2008 election? After the next decade begins?

I see very little difference in threat levels between Islamists with adopted Hispanic names sneaking across our boarders and the thousands of Mexicans who enter monthly and then plunk 3 to 7 children in our public schools at a cost $10k per child.
Both will destroy the public infrastructure of this country.

But Loy said there's no conclusive evidence that al-Qaida operatives have entered the country via Mexico.
I guess a mushroom cloud over D.C. would qualify as "conclusive evidence".
To: BurbankKarl
Sadly, we have not learned our lesson yet. It will take another terrorist attack before the citizenry rise up and demand that the borders be closed. Pandering politicians on both sides of the isle are more worried about offending Mexico than they are about saving America lives. Sadly, not enough Americans have died yet.

But Loy said there's no conclusive evidence that al-Qaida operatives have entered the country via Mexico.If this statement is correctly attributed this guy should be out of a job yesterday. He is waiting for "conclusive evidence" such as another September surprise or worse. Probably figures that he will get kicked up the promotion ladder another notch when the country panics again. Surely no one would blame those in charge of our alleged security.

No, but there's one heck of a lot of circumstantial evidence to indicate such. I suspect there is much going on behind the scenes to roll up networks...

No. Not at all. First
they would blame militias. Then
anti-abortion
"forces" would get blamed.
Finally, they'd probably say,
"We'll just never know . . . "

I guess it's gonna take a suitcase nuc going off in Houston (where Mom & 41 live) before 43 is going to get serious about closing our borders.

The borders should have been closed down completely on 9/12/01. I have never understood why they weren't; it was a no-brainer.
