I started lurking here shortly after Freerepublic started, mainly because Freepublic.com was a great source for news the mainstream media would not cover.
I remember reading about how the Park Police could not find Vince Fosters keys at the location where his body was found. When the former bouncer and White House errand boy Craig Livingstone went to identify the body at the morgue, he reached in the dead Mr. Fosters pants pockets and retrieved a large set of keys that was missed by all the professionals. That, among other information left me with doubts about the conclusion Vince Foster committed suicide.
I saw a photo posted on FR of Ron Browns head. It looked like a bullet hole to me.
The same April 1996, Ron Brown died; William Colby fell out of his canoe and died.
The mainstream media reported William Colby called his wife shortly before he disappeared and told her he was going for a canoe ride. I found out on FR that his friend and business associate, James Davidson, stated Mr. Colby did not tell his wife he was going for a canoe ride. Why would someone make that up?
About two weeks later, Admiral Boorda shot himself in his chest, through his ribbons. The mainstream media said it was because he was wearing medals he did not earn. I found out on FR, the claim was bogus. Admiral Boorda participated in combat operations in Southeast Asia and was awarded two V devices for medals he received related to combat operations.
I learned on FR about Kathy Ferguson. She was married to Bill Clintons co-defendant in the Paula Jones civil suit at the time of the reported harassment. Later, Kathy divorced Danny and Kathy was dating Bill Shelton at the time of her death. Days after the suit was filed, Kathy shot herself in the head. Six weeks later, police officer Bill Shelton was found on top of her grave. He died of a gunshot to the head.
Barbara Wise worked in the office in the Commerce Department where the technology transfers to China were being considered. Friday after Thanksgiving in 1996 her naked badly bruised body was found in her office at the Commerce Department. She died of natural causes. I read about the police report describing the condition of her body on Freerepublic.
Less than two weeks after Lewinsky had her reported showdown with the President, Mary Mahoney, a former Clinton White House intern was shot several times in a Starbucks where she worked two miles from the White House. Her two co-workers were also shot to death. No money was taken, no one heard any shots. Unless you read the Washington Times or FR, it is unlikely you have ever heard of Mary Mahoney. The Lewinsky acquaintance and former intern was never mentioned in the national mainstream press.
According to Juanita Broaddrick, Bill Clinton raped her. I believed her.
I voted for our current President hoping for a legitimate investigation into the technology transfers to China and many of the other activities associated with Bill Clinton.
Later, it was explained to me it these potential high crimes would not be investigated because of political reasons.
I thought I understood the reason President Bush would not prosecute Bill Clinton for his many crimes. What I dont understand is why President Bush now embraces a man I once thought was a rapist, complicit in murder, and a man that sold weapons technology to communist China for campaign contributions.
Were we wrong about Bill Clinton?
LOL! My wife's 85 year-old grandmother is constantly lecturing me on the "Illuminati". It's gotten to the point that I just concoct conspiracy theories as I talk to her and she just nods and nods, with an occasional, "you're absolutely right!" She's a loyal Republican and was even presented with a plaque for outstanding service by the NJ chapter of the GOP...Which frankly just scares me.
Already has.
He seemed to have plenty of time weakening our military and intelligence services, impose PC rules in law enforcement, and bomb aspirin factories and the crap out of Serbia. Perhaps if Bin Laden was a piece of ass, Clinton would have nailed him.
Nobody wanted 9-11, and sadly neiter side saw it coming
Excuse me, but the WTC was attacked in February of 1993. Perhaps if Bin Laden was white, Clinton would have got him.
Thank you, I think.
If all this is true, am I must convince myself that it is, this wasn't the Clinton Administration - it was the Clinton Family.
Look up some of FReeper Alamo-girl and Mia T epic posts.
Welcome,
Oh brother..!
Incorrect. Despite the Zumwalt, Clinton, Dalton, Boorda family spin to the contrary, Jeremy Boorda was not entitled to wear the Combat "V" on either the Navy Achievement Medal or Navy Commendation Medal. Quit perpetuating the myth that he was.
There is no question about the good things that Bush has done.
My concern is the number of law abiding folks I personally know that have been persecuted by the ATF after Clinton left office. That particular agency seems to have moved on from the national lawmaking arena to intimidating and ruining the lives of common men. I talked to one such man this afternoon. It was pretty sad.
Contemporaries make poor historians, we all have too much invested in our beliefs.
When I say he will be judged by history, I am talking at least a hundred years down the road when everyone (or almost everyone) alive today is gone.
I have come to the conclussion that we (conservatives) hurt ourselves by spending so much energy on the Clintons (sort of what the Democrats are doing today against President Bush).
Do I think Clinton was a bad President? Yes.
Do I think Clinton committed crimes while President? Yes.
Do I think Clinton should have been forced out of office? Again, yes.
But we went at it the wrong way. I am beginning to think we were played like a cheap violin. The Clintons, and their supporters did some polictical ju jitsu on us, and tossed us all over the mat.
But you know what, they are gone. I do not fear the Clintons (and I include Hillary) their days are over.
I belive President Bush has shown us how to respond to our critics, smile, embrace them, do not climb down into the gutter with them, keep and eye on the goal and just keep working towards the finish line.
I do not "hate" Democrats, I simply disagree with what they stand for.
No, we weren't wrong, but the present administration feels that nothing admirable would be attained by driving home Clinton's crimes. It would expose the country to shame, humiliation, and in effect, cheapen the office of the President. That's the thinking behind see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. For some reason, democrats have no problem with cheapening the Presidency, no matter who is in office.
Years after Admiral Boorda was awarded his two "V" devices, the Navy Regulations for awards and decorartions were revised to include a specific wording in awards in order for the receipient to wear the "V" device.
It was never the intent of the revision to go back and yank away all the "V" devices awarded because the citations did not include wording from a revision that did not exist at the time of the award.
Bringing criminals to justice?
No, Dubyuh and his Daddy are WRONG to assist in the re-legitimization of Slick Willie today...MUD
This is my concern, too.
Both parties are in essence the party of government and the republic is to a large extent an oligarchy with a democratic veneer. Seldom are there big shifts in Congress, unlike the parliamentary systems in multiparty nations like Israel or Italy. The interparty disputes involve the constituencies of the GOP and Democrats and their interests. Both parties find it in their respective interests to maintain confidence in the system and keep the large majority of the population quiescent. Assuming that Clinton was guilty of killing Vince Foster, Ron Brown, et. al. and receiving enormous bribes from Marc Rich, the Red Chinese, etc., a vigorous prosecution of the ex-president would weaken that confidence and undermine the quiescence of the population. Further, the entire Democratic Party and their MSM and entertainment allies, plus the unions, would "go to the mattresses" and Congress would virtually cease to function.
You don't need conspiracy theory to explain why the Bushes have done nothing about Clinton's apparent crimes, or for that matter, why Ken Starr went after Clinton on the relatively minor matter of lying under oath about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
