Nearly a decade ago, just a few months after Microsoft shipped Windows 95, I asked Bill Gates if it was a conscious decision in the development of that product to give Windows more of a Mac look and feel. Of course I knew he'd say it wasn't, but I couldn't resist asking. "There was no goal even to compete with Macintosh," Gates proclaimed. "We don't even think of Macintosh as a competitor."
That was a crock, so I pressed the issue a little. I asked him how he accounted for the widespread perception that Windows 95 looked a lot like Mac 88, and whether the similarity was just a coincidence. I didn't expect a sobbing confession of mimicry, but I thought it would be cool to see how he'd respond. Surprisingly enough, Gates shifted gears and became more forthcoming.

I had a Rio MP3 and I liked everything about it except the damn FM tuner. On a good day, I could only get a clear signal on 2 stations. Sounds like you might be using NiCad batteries, if so, I would dump them and get some NiMH's with a quality charger -- Sony makes a nice one with an auto shut-off feature to prevent overcharging.
That is not how a logic diagram works but thanks for playing.
Normally I don't play with trolls, but an exception is not out of line sometimes. Tom Brady is a circle (a set of one) in side the larger circle which is the set of all Patriots. The set "Tom Brady" does NOT encompass all members of the set "Patriots." Tom Brady does not equal Patriots.
Petronski is a member of the set Man. Petronski does not equal man, because there are other members of that set.
Resorting to ad hominem is an admission of defeat.
HINT: "a" is a delimiter just as "fast" is a delimiter
What you are saying like saying:
Porsche = car is false because Porsche = FAST car OR German Gar. No matter how you slice, dice or distort: Porsche = car is true just as Firmware=software is true and Socrates=man.
We are talking logic, not grammer.
You can work this out easily - just illustrate when Socrates did not equal man or Firmware does not equal software.
Latin is not your strong subject, please look the term up before you use it. Nothing I said to you was ad hominem.
Allow me to quote YOU: Resorting to ad hominem is an admission of defeat.
Of course nothing you said TO ME was ad hominem.
You're behavior is trollish. You are trolling this thread. It's a statement of fact.
Precisely. "A" is a delimiter. Porsche equals A car: true. Porsche equals car: false. Limitations are what you are leaving out.
Where are you going with this nonsense...still trying to make your faulty logic work. So this is what you mean:
Firmware = software IS FALSE (using Petronski Logic)
Firmware = A Software IS TRUE (using Petronski Logic)
Whatever....
I think you've got it.
No, that is your personal opinion. All you have been doing is pathetically trying to attack every statement I make and you have the nerve to call me a troll. I believe you are the one acting like a troll.
Your ignorance of computer technology is matched by your ignorance of logic with is matched by your arrogance in that you think you personal opinion is fact.
Whatever you say, sparky, if it makes you feel better.
I wouldn't buy an iPod shuffle either, but I understand their engineering decisions. I think it's the excellent engineering that makes me like Apples in the first place, especially their attention to detail, which is just amazing.
For example, the Cube had a video plus USB connector to the monitor. When you put the Cube to sleep, the light on the power button would slowly pulse (not just blink). Cool, huh? But the power button on the monitor also pulsed. Cool too, I guess. But here's the Apple attention to detail -- they used the USB connection to make both pulse in synch.
Now that's not important, nor does it make the computer operate any better. However, given that much attention to such a trivial thing, imagine how much attention they give the things that are actually important.
Petronski Logic: Firmware is a software.
You never answered the question: When is Firmware not software?
I am having fun with Petronski Logic. Lets try some more examples:
Petronski = human (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
Patriots = NFL Team (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
USA = Country (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
OS X = Operating System (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
Oak = Tree (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
Free Republic = Internet Debate Forum (Petronski Logic says: FALSE)
5 + 5 = 10 (Petronski Logic says: FALSE) (Petronski Logic Answer: 5 + 5 = a 10)
Petronski is A human.
The Patriots are AN NFL team.
The USA is A country.
OSX is AN operating system.
The Oak is A tree.
Free Republic is AN internet debate forum.
5+5=10 is true because 10=5+5
Petronski Logic: Porsche = Car FALSE!
More fun with Petronski Logic:
Question: Who is George Bush
Answer: The President
Petronski Logic: FALSE! Bush is a president - Bush is a member of the group Presidents but Bush = President is FALSE!
Really.
5 donuts + 5 donuts = 10 donuts
6 Ipods + 4 Ipods = 10 Ipods
Does 5 donuts + 5 donuts = 10 Ipods? No. Both answers are 10 but 10 donuts does not equal 10 Ipods.
Petronski Logic: the answer is a member of the group 10 but 5 donuts + 5 donuts does not equal 6 Ipods + 4 Ipods therefore 5 + 5 = a 10 and 5 + 5 = 10 is FALSE!
