Watch out, Viking Kitties shoot back!!
OMG - this picture is just toooo funny - you made my day!!!!
Maybe the Supreme Court should cite foreign law in this matter, because I know the animal rights wackos will be in a hissy fit. In Germany, if a cat is 200 meters out of a residential area it is considered predatory! Blast Away! MEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW...................BANG!
My daughter called last night very upset, after she saw a "snippet" about this, that was going to be shown on the 10 p.m. DENVER news...she thought it had to do with the Denver area and was near hysterics since her cat had just ran away two nights ago, and she thought someone was going to blow it smitherines! LOL
Awww, so cute. LOL.
I wonder, what about wild dogs? And dogs that attack? Just recently in my area, a police officer responded to a 911 call and when he approached the house, a pit bull ran out and attacked him. Funny thing is, instead of shooting the dog, he shot himself in the leg (missed). Don't know how he did that. But I don't like wild dogs either. Whether they are someone's pet or running in the wild. I wish pet owners would not drop them off to be a burden on the rest of the neighborhood. Wild dogs are just as destructive as feral cats. Thanks for the laugh, I liked the kitty pic.
This past Sunday, after I had sat down to start work at the computer, I noticed some distressed mewing coming from the back yard.
I went out there and found a male B&W tuxedo cat laying in the ground cover in a rear corner of the yard.
I pulled him out of there. He was obviously in great pain, but didn't bite when I touched him. I noticed that he could not move his hind legs very much at all.
I examined him... there was what looked to be a bullet hole in his torso, just behind his left front leg. Obviously someone had aimed for his heart but missed, then probably threw him over the brick wall into our yard.
I gave him a little food. Then I dug out two doses of cat pain medication which were left over from when my female cat had been spayed, and gave it to him (liquid in a syringe). I hope it helped a little, but I'm not sure. He did manage to crawl around the yard some with his front legs.
I called Animal Control, but when they hadn't shown up after a couple of hours, I ended up taking the poor beast to the local animal shelter; I just couldn't stand to see him suffer. In the meantime, he would intermittently mew in pain, collapse for a while, then crawl around a bit.
More than likely he was euthanized, once he was taken to a veterinarian; he was in agony with internal injuries, his face was kind of cold, and his gums were pale. I also don't think that most people would try to save an animal with a broken back and/or paralyzed hind legs.
In preparation for the car trip, I had picked him up and put him in a laundry basket as gently as I could, but when the shelter employee picked him up and stuffed him into a small cage, the cat struggled with his front legs and screamed in pain.
Sheesh. I can understand killing an animal for food, or even because it is a pest; but I can't countenance or understand mortally wounding an animal and then letting it suffer.
And although I realize that not every animal can be saved and go to a good home, I don't think this fellow was feral; he probably was just one of those roaming intact males who sprayed everything in his path and crapped in flower beds. If they'd bothered to have him neutered and keep him indoors, he'd probably have been a fine pet to someone.
These don't shoot the cat loons obviously haven't had much experience with feral cats. We love our kitties and they earn their keep in the barn, but feral cats are a nightmare. Fair game, always.
