North Korean Women Urged to Sacrifice All for Kim Jong-il

SEOUL, March 8 (Yonhap) -- North Korea called on its women Tuesday to sacrifice everything for their leader Kim Jong-il, describing the joy, sorrow and ordeals of following him as an "honor." "All women should cherish the immutable resolution always to defend the authority of Kim Jong-il in every way and share their destiny with him to the last," the North's main newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, said in an editorial marking the 95th International Women's Day.
The editorial, carried by the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), said the Korean women's movement has reached a new peak and North Korean women have become true revolutionaries and patriots under Kim's care, calling them "one of the two wheels of the revolution."
"Never before have the personality and dignity of (North) Korean women been respected and their position and role enhanced so immensely as today in the long history of the country," the editorial said.
