FIVE hundred British troops were last night rushed to Kosovo amid fears of a new explosion in ethnic violence.
The men from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Green Jackets have been deployed after an urgent request from NATO.
Commanders of the force in Kosovo want to make a show of strength as tensions rise.
The Green Jackets will patrol the capital Pristina to keep ethnic Albanians and Serbs apart.
This time last year 31 died and 500 were wounded in violence.

Some have been wondering if the Ramush Haradinaj indictment will cause Albanians to riot.
And how many churches were destroyed while the Nato troops looked on?
If you count monasteries too, it was around 40 I think.
I hope this time we wont interfere.

Albanians have a street named for Clinton, called something like President Clinton Boulevard, in Pristina. They also have a big mural of him on the side of a building in the city. Further they have statues of him and Tony Blair, and they've named their children after Madeleine Albright.

Around 6 years this coming June. (NATO airstrikes ended the second week in June 1999.)

Who might "some" be? It is interesting that Kosovars keep such close tabs on Lebanese affairs.
But what's the exit strategy? Someone from 60 minutes ask Clinton how we win the peace?

Long time no see Torie on the Balkans threads. Say, weren't you the one just salivating over Milosevic's trial saying you couldn't wait to watch every minute of it. So...how much have you watched Torie? Is it going as you thought? Torie happy?
I never said that. What I did say is that I was looking forward to Slobo being removed to The Hague and tried, along with his buddy perps, and any extant perps of other ethnic groups, including Croat perps. I hope that helps.
