I just LOVE Mel Gibson. *sigh* I probably won't be watching the re-editted version now, but might later on (when my kids are old enough to possibly watch).

A Fatima movie?? THAT would be awesome! And I love his attitude about Hollywood's snub of his film. Plus, he honestly does not care if they give it an Oscar. It's not why he made the movie, though I'm sure that a lot of the nonbelievers in LA can't understand that at all.

You think that Robyn Gibson would loan me her husband? Not for anything tawdry, mind you. I'd just have him wear a tuxedo and fetch me things. ;)

Not the bottomless Tuxedo, I assume.

I thought the movie was great; however, it is still unclear to me when the man who played in all these war movies became religious :} I look forward to his next movie. For whatever reason, they all seem to be very addictive.

I was sort of hoping that Mel Gibson would make the movie he was rumored to be making about the Maccabbees (spelling?), I think that would prove to the Jews once and for all that Gibson is a man of profound faith and not an anti-Semite.

There's already been one movie on the subject, THE MIRACLE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA, released in 1952. It was not an A picture but it holds up surprisingly well.

My feelings exactly. I'm a cradle Catholic and went through years of CCD and church-going without learning anything about Fatima (or Lourdes or Guadalupe). Now, public miracles aren't the meat and potatoes of our faith, but they're not trivial either, and they should play an important part in catechesis in our materialistic age that rejects the miraculous.
