the HBO Films bio pic, The Gathering Storm, is being shown on HBO Signature tonight at 7 PM, CST.
This is the story of "the wilderness years" in the early 30s while Churchill was out of power and the only voice pointing out who Hitler was and what he was doing.
Albert Finney plays Churchill. Great performance and a fascinating story.
The comparisons to Bush during his first term are inescapable.
Thanks for posting...Winston is one of my Heros!

Thanks Proud. ;o)
Thx USF...I will watch it!
Truly, the BBC production of The Wilderness Years was better. However, it isn't on tonight.
Robert Hardy was great as Sir Winston and Siân Phillips was a far better Clementine compared to that raving leftist (but talented actress) Redgrave.
I first ran into Hardy as Prince Albert in the Masterpiece Theater presentation of the BBCs Edward The King. We fell in love with the period to the extent that our daughter is named Victoria Elizabeth (though they are family names, as well).
I do not, however, enjoy his turn as the Minister of Magic twit Cornelius Fudge. Of course, you're not supposed to like him.
