> parents are responsible to God, not to society or educators, for the formation of their children's hearts and minds
Ummm... so... if parents raise their little darlings to be psycho killers, society has nothing to say to the parents?
To: conservativecorner
I cannot believe what America has come to. Our children are being taught there are no moral absolutes and we're shocked there is so much cheating in schools today. They are being bombarded daily through music, TV, movies, media that it's fine to have sex under any condition and with anybody at any time and we're shocked by teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease, not to mention all the emotional problems associated with sex out of wedlock. Then when someone such as Dr. Dobson takes a stand, he is ridiculed for it. We are losing the culture war in this country and a big part is due to the public schools. My youngest graduates from public school this May. If I were just starting to have kids of school age, I would not send them to public schools.

The liberal way is to lie to achieve their goals.

Of course they do. But isn't raising your child to be a "psycho killer" going against God's word. If you fulfill your obligation to the Lord, your societal responsibilities are secondary and take care of themselves.

Our children are being taught there are no moral absolutes Ok, so let's have it your way. Let's assume that we stick to the moral absolutes....We tell Jimmy that his mom's are hell bound because they are lesbians.
We'll tell Johnny his mother is hellbound cause his mother just wanted to be happy and divorce is father.
We'll tell Sammy his father is hellbound because in his sales presentation when asked whether his product was the lowest priced for similar utility he while never answering the question directly, led the buyer to believe that it was so Sammy's father could reach his monthly sales goal.
We'll tell Sue that her parents are hellbound because her mom and dad didn't tithe even though they have problems just putting food on the table.
We'll tell Henry that his parents are hellbound because in their business they are not statistically meeting the net weight on the package of milk they produce for the school milk program, but it's only a gram or two. But then again, it's theft.
Let's tell everyone in class who doesn't go to our church that they are hellbound because they don't meet the biblical criteria our church has found in scripture to be saved.
Those are all absolutes. Let's go for it.

You totally left out the forgiveness by God part. And I assume from your post you don't believe in moral absolutes, right and wrong. And I, nor Dr. Dobson in the article, EVER said anybody was hellbound for anything. By the way, are you a public school teacher?

The sodomites and their pals vilified Dr. Laura, too. I hope the parents in whose classrooms this propaganda is scheduled to be aired and discussed make a very large noise!!

If the children grow up into psycho killers THEY(children) are responsible to society.

I enjoy listening to James Dobson. He makes a lot of common sense like Dr. Laura that seems to be missing in our world today.

The absolutes in the bible says the adulters, thiefs, liars and so on are hellbound. Both new and old testament. Both prior and after Christ's death and the offer of grace.
No, I am not a teacher. But if we are going to make absolutes, then let's make absolutes.
To: joesbucks
If the statement, "All truths are relative" is true, then it is also relative, meaning that some truths are absolute. Class dismissed.

But if we are going to make absolutes, then let's make absolutes.By the way, we didn't make the absolute that homosexual acts are an abomination, God did.

Is that the best you can do for a comparison? I have to say that your post is one of the weakest arguments I have read since becoming a member.

Ummm... so... if parents raise their little darlings to be psycho killers, society has nothing to say to the parents? Umm... you might try learning how to read.
Parents who "are responsible to God, not to society or educators, for the formation of their children's hearts and minds" don't raise their children to be psycho killers.
Unless you would like to go on record as saying belief in God is the equivalent of being a psychokiller.

"The absolutes in the bible says the adulters, thiefs, liars and so on are hellbound. Both new and old testament. Both prior and after Christ's death and the offer of grace. " If you have a problem with what the Bible teaches, that's between you and God. I don't condemn anybody, it's not my job. I will point out what the Bible teaches. And that's it. Up to you from there. You want to believe or not believe, it's your choice.

Ummm... so... if parents raise their little darlings to be psycho killers, society has nothing to say to the parents?Legally, no. Can you name one case where a parent has been prosecuted for the actions of a adult child?
