It's also possible that whoever originated it is then going to claim that popular outcry was able to put a halt to it, and he makes himself look like a hero.
By the way, did you hear that I stopped a meteor from hitting the earth yesterday? What, you didn't hear about any meteor?
You're welcome.
...could line up with the current stock fall...
(Just for discussion)
I would think that crude prices would be going up at the same time, though.
Deadly Flu Strain Shipped Worldwide

What bothers me is this is not breaking news on FR and this story is big!
One scientist commented he's worried about bio-terrorism and WHO sent this out? I know it was 'caught' by a lab in Ohio, how?

"This virus could cause a pandemic," said Klaus Stohr, the World Health Organization's top flu expert. "We are talking about a fully transmissible human influenza virus to which the majority of the population has no immunity. We are concerned."
The virus, known as an H2N2 strain, killed 1 million to 4 million people worldwide in 1957 and 1958, including about 70,000 in the United States. Because the virus has not circulated in the wild since 1968, anyone born after that would have no natural immunity to it. Since then, the virus has been kept only in high-security biological laboratories.
The 3,700 samples were sent out beginning {{{last fall, }}}primarily to labs in the United States, although 14 were in Canada and 61 were in 16 other countries, Stohr said.
"But there's always a concern about a virus to which a sizable part of the population has no immunity, and we're interested in seeing to it that it's neutralized as quickly as possible."
(((What they are NOT saying is this flu has no antibiotic to help it!!!}}}
This article MUST be read in it's entirety!:

WHO asks all labs to destroy erroneously sent flu virus
The World Health Organization (WHO) has asked medical laboratories to destroy the samples of the Asian influenza virus, which claimed 4 million lives globally in 1957.

Forget investing in gold, this article will cause a run on tinfoil lol. Factually, if this is true, we are in a very poor defensive posture with only one carrier group in the area. Secondly, Israel doesn't have enough aircraft to launch as extensive of a strike as will be needed.
We are all aware of the 'bird' flu- we all knew what we personally experienced being sick (unusually,seriously) for the past few months, so then are we to believe that since the CDC just came out with this when they knew in the FALL! Is it out here, is it bio-terror?! The CDC covers and lies and IMHO if they are revealing this at this late date, they know much more then they are admitting.Combine this with the latest Presidential executive order on quarantine, I'm not feeling too confident. I believe someone was about to out them and thus the press conference just today! I am spitting mad!

GNN - {{{Bird Flu}}} in Pennsylvania Poses Uncertain Risk to People
... {{{We have identified the virus as an H2N2 strain}}}, but that's all we know ... They fear that the current H2N2 Pennsylvania strain may be similar enough to the 1957 pandemic

H7N2 Delaware, New Jersey--H2N2 Pennsylvania
This strain has not shown an ability to be transmitted to ... avian influenza, has a strain of influenza, H2N2
The initial quarantine was 2 miles. The new outbreak was 5 miles away from the index farm and was a commercial poultry operation in contradistinction to the index farm that was an independent outfit connected to the live animal markets in New York City.

Should we worry about avian influenza?
{Snippets}
The outbreaks of avian influenza in east and southeast Asia in 2003-2004 has lead to speculation that the next influenza pandemic is at hand.
seem that the next pandemic strain would be an H2N2 strain. Since these strains stopped circulating
Time magazine recently ran a cover story on this issue, entitled "Bird Flu Is Asia hatching the next human pandemic?".
Do the avian H5N1 strains pose a threat to humans? There is no doubt that these viruses can infect and cause disease in humans
In a 1992 study published in Seminars in Respiratory Infections, KF Shortridge and colleagues report significant levels of antibodies against the H5 virus in Asian populations.
The H1N1 strains circulated from 1918 until 1957. From that year until 1968, H2N2 strains were prevalent, followed by H3N2 strains. The H1N1 strains re-emerged in 1977. Today, both H3N2 and H1N1 strains cause yearly epidemics of influenza. If influenza strains re-emerge when existing immunity wanes, then it would seem that the next pandemic strain would be an H2N2 strain. Since these strains stopped circulating in humans in 1968, anyone born after that year would be susceptible to infection with an H2N2 virus, because they would have no previous immunity.
In my opinion, we should stop worrying about avian influenza and concentrate on H2N2 strains as the next pandemic influenza virus.

Sis, they cannot destory what they do not have! The titles are misleading!
Deadly strain of avian flu in Texas - April 1, 2004
... The H7N2 strain was found in two flocks in Delaware and four of the 35 live chicken markets

So is "Bird" Flu = H2N2 strain
Why not? It grew since last Ocotober and the CDC just holds a press conference today!
