JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The upstairs neighbor of an Egyptian Christian family found slain in their home in January was charged Friday, along with another man, in the murders.
Edward McDonald, 25, who rented a second-floor apartment above Hossam Armanious and his family, pleaded not guilty to four counts of felony murder. Hamilton Sanchez, 30, faces the same charges and also pleaded not guilty.
Sanchez during a court hearing began crying as he stood before a judge, his hands cuffed behind his back.
"I didn't kill nobody. I didn't kill nobody, man. I didn't kill nobody, people," Sanchez said, as he was led from the courtroom. McDonald stared at the floor during the hearing.
Both men, who were on parole for different drug offenses, were ordered held on $10 million cash bail.
Authorities said Armanious, 47; his wife, Amal Garas, 37, and their children - Sylvia, 15, and Monica, 8 - were slain three days before their bodies were found Jan. 14.

"Hamilton Sanchez, 30, faces the same charges ...."
Sanchez ???
Here we go again, now everyone will be illegal immigrant bashing instead ...
Sure. Ri-i-ight. Every $25K a year cop has uncanny abilities you've never dreamed of. I've been to parties some of the Jersey City cops were at -- that unacnny ability must include drinking copious amounts of beer and shots.>>>>
Yep that pretty much sums it up.
Today is Hoboken's early St. Patrick's Day Parade/Drinkathon.
And Im sure just like last year, J.C. cops will be joining in fracas and acting like loons.
I'd like to be clear for my own account though -- Cops have good days and bad days, they are no supermen. There are good ones who drink heavy and bad ones who are teetotlars. Nor does the money make much of a difference to being bad or good.
You think those are what makes GOOD cops?!? You have a very screwed up definition of a "good cop"...
"Wondering" is one thing.
What we saw was another.
"Excuse you, but the murdered family had had death threats from Muslims online.
It was not too far a jump to wonder if Muslims had done it."
This was not merely "wondering" ... This gave many a chance to spew their venom and trumpet their hatred.

This line from here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1328747/posts is most telling -
" I can almost hear the hand-wringing pundits fretting about this undeserved, unwarranted backlash against innocent Muslims."
In this particular case it appears that it WAS undeserved and unwarranted.
McDonald had rented the second-floor apartment.
I also doubt the hole was used for what you say. ;-)
...and entirely understandable, considering the information we were given from the Coptic community and the victim's relationship with Muslims.
Sorry...but innocence is no defence on FR. Check out Number 18, above: However, and I guess you all knew this was coming, islam can't accuse anyone of bigotry as the result of speculation that the crime may have been 'religiously' motivated. Their numerous threats based upon the koranic requirement that all infidels should die or don't deserve to live, is what pointed the finger straight at them. Not us.
Of course, Fred Nerks is defending "speculation"... which is not relevant to the more hateful comments that have been, and still are being, made.
Yes, lots of misinformation was provided by the "Coptic community" and I can understand the tendency to mistrust them. But not all Copts are liars...so we must look at individuals and actions, not groups and beliefs.
Was McDonald in prison before?
And note that I wrote of "good cops" having that ability...not every one.
And that was different than any major public crime how? There are always off-the-wall rumors and speculations. The speculations in this case had (and still have) a number of very legitmate causes.
What town was the blind sheik and his cell from, by the way? The ones who first attacked the Twin Towers?
That's what Nerks was talking about. A legit complaint too.
BTTT
Both of the accused are on parole, I believe.
"...and entirely understandable, considering the information we were given from the Coptic community and the victim's relationship with Muslims."
Wondering, speculation, suspicion, sure - but if you review the posts, it shows that the search for the truth was a secondary consideration - the opportunity to spread hatred and distrust was not to be missed.
Many posts did not even bother to reference the subject of the thread - they were simply reposts of anti-muslim pictures and slogans, looking very much like those used to rouse anti-American feelings and get the unwashed out to march in the streets.
And in prisons there are prison muslims. When else would expalin a McDonald paired with a Sanchez? Drugs, yes, in a deal -- but as a team?
Where and when has the Muslim Community made an energetic public sustained effort to lament and disclaim the violence committe in the name of Muslims?
"committed"
