There is a good reason why there are pressure relief valves on big steam boilers.

Seal up those valves, one is likely to have a huge explosion, instead of little hisses of steam.

...That's one of the reasons I'm scared to death of the supremist court getting a hold of the Second Amendment...

I'm not. Sometimes people get what they want, and they also end up getting what they deserve.

And we are supposed to feel threatened by by China wanting to take control of the the net. .

Our own government is doing a pretty good job aren't they?

Congress and President Bush could do something about this if they wanted to. I dread when a liberal makes it back into office. Sites like FR would have to be moved overseas (of course the FEC might try to get access to such sites blocked somehow).

Leave it to the feds to find an issue that would unite both the left and the right in this country.

Somehow, I never thought the idea of "prying it from my cold, dead fingers" would apply to my computer.

I can only imagine the size of the enforcement regime needed for this. It would dwarf several of the current cabinet-level departments.

I doubt they'd try for complete enforcement, and would instead settle for selective, politically-motivated enforcement.

Note to those trying to censor the Internet: keep pushing it, schmucks.

Fact is there isn't much they can do to shut down free speech on the Internet. They can pass all the laws they want but they will not be able to shut down the Blogging activity on the Internet.
The Government doesn't have enough computing power to shut down and regulate every aspect of web activity.
I agree this has to be stopped but they are kidding themselves if they think they pass a law or write regulations seeking to control the overall content of the web.
This will effect everyone of all different political persuasions and may the only issue we all can agree on, namely that Free Speech on the web cannot and will not be controlled by the Government. For if this passes then what else is next. We already have enough government control as it is. The Old Media will not benefit from this one iota and if they think it will they are truly in a dreamland.
Pandora's Box is open and the Old MSM can't close it back.

It'll get handled like the IRS. Every so often, a few high profile cases will be shown, with gleeful help from the MSM, to attempt to scare others into complying.
And if that fails, a no-knock raid or two with some deaths will help.

You sure you are in the right party?

Do you have a specific comment . . . other than to advertise your website?

Agree. the very idea that these proposals make it far enough down the shute; as if they had some legitimacy is incredible. .

Repubs had better deal with the Demrats fricking 'communist' agenda. . .before it is too late.

? If you'll wait to question my intentions until after reading what I took the time to post you I'd appreciate it. :)

I thought it relevant to your frustrations with the Republican party and thought you might find it interesting and informative.
