Judge releases DCF document in Schiavo case
Tampa Bay's 10 News ^ | 3/3/2005 | Tampa Bay's 10 News

A judge released the DCF document seeking intervention in the Terri Schiavo case. She's the brain-damaged woman at the center of a "right to die" battle.

The department of children and families document names Michael Schiavo as responsible for the mistreatment of his wife. The nine complaints cited are very technical. They essentially claim the abuse or neglect of Terri is in the form of the kind of medical treatment Terri is, or in some cases is not receiving.

The complaint accuses Michael Schiavo of: 1. Failure to educate using certain therapies in violation of guardianship 2. Experimental procedures performed without proper medical and legal procedures observed. 3. Lack of manipulation of the ward's (Terri’s) arms causing severe contractures

Circuit judge George Greer says he will make the document available to the public tomorrow. Greer ordered Terri Schiavo's feeding tube be removed March 18th.

Exactly. Why anyone who enjoys what FR has to offer would believe the one-sided garbage they spew is beyond me.

I personally believe using trained medical professionals as euthanizers, would be unethical.

Circuit judge George Greer says.......

This judge has set himself up for failure and done it on purpose. He's wanted to kill Terry for a long time if you go by his previous rulings. Now he wants an out because this case stinks and public opinion is against her termination. So he's set a reasonable deadline for the prolife forces to set things right with proper governmental intervention. The judge knows Michael Schiavo must lose jurisdiction over the wife he wants to murder.

FWIW: Many who are not big on pro life issues are disgusted by this case and by the perpetrator, Michael Schiavo.

There is no living will in this case. I hope Michael gets what he deserves-jail time.

Hey, y'all! I'm having a great time chatting and everything, but you'll have to carry on without me for a while. It's late. I've got to get some shut-eye.

Goodnight prayers for Terri!

I think DCF had an investigation going years ago, but dropped it when Terri became ill.

The husband was forced to make a stand...... and forced into his way of life by the litigation. His hell began when she wrecked and her parents propegated it with unreasonable demands and litigation when he told them he was in control as court appointed guardian. People try to run you over when you make a stand on principle.

Wrecked? What? Terri collapsed at home. You got that point, right?

I think I'm getting your point now and I'm agreeing with you on the most likely release of the 30+ pages.

Like you said, what was released thus far, would NOT compromise anyone. Unless listing the individual items, as they did in the 11page report, already DID compromise someone??

What I'm saying is by Listing Each Specific possible abuse, those who would be the obvious informers or abusers would NOW be known.

Example - Guardian Issue listed. Now, Powers that Be in that area have been informed or you could say alerted.

I'm just hoping that the best outcome will be in Terri's favor and the truth will not only be investigated by will also be known. We may very well see the larger report tomorrow.

Hoping with you, that DCF lawyers will not be in bed with the dreaded Greer.

No. He CAN divorce her but refuses.

Then this case should be an advertisement to remind people tht a living will is essential if such a situation arises.
Otherwise i guess one has no rights and only some court can make their health care decisions. Good night.

I think there is some testimony from some medical staff, who had worked with Terri, which has come to light as of late. If I remember correctly Greer had the testimony and refused to look at it- but somehow the Schindlers lawyers got a hold of it and Viola!

****"Then this case should be an advertisement to remind people tht a living will is essential if such a situation arises***"

I know you're gone, but I can't let this stand without saying.

Everyone should BEWARE OF LIVING WILLS. A generic Living Willing, is just that. You could end up requiring a day or two on a respirator, with total recovery in days. However, due to the Living Will, all of a sudden your organs could reside within another human being.

Good Living Wills also include: Giving someone you REALLY, REALLY TRUST, power of attorney over your medical needs, rather than giving the doctors the ability to immediately pull the plug.

Hope the above made sense. I've been so worried about people running out and getting living wills without realizing there ARE dangerous sides to them, too.

You are right- and a husband should not have the right to kill his wife whenever he so pleases.

So what happened to change DCF's position, interest, and pursuit of their duties in this case between February and now? Was it because Gov. Bush put the heat on them? They certainly have had an epiphany.

...and instructions on how to hide you from the do-gooders who would try to block your wishes from being carried out.

Mrs. Schiavo shouldn't lose her rights just because people interfered and delayed them from being carried out sooner. By denying her the end-care outcome that she discussed with her husband, do-gooders have not only stolen her self-determination, but have stolen years of Mr. Schiavo's life.

It's a red herring, a total straw man, to talk about his relationship with this other woman because if that relationship is needed to justify the do-gooders taking away Mrs. Schiavo's choice, then blocking the choice was unjustified in the first place.

You have a twisted view of marriage if you think that it's preferable for a man to divorce his wife than to stick to things and ensure her wishes are honoured.
