We Are Liberals: Red, White and Socialist
mensnewsdaily.com ^ | March 4, 2005 | Chris Davis

Liberals are fighting mad! We’ve had it up to here with President Bush, Karl Rove, Vice President Cheney and the Halliburton oligarchy! This has to stop here and now! The liberals of the world must unite against the fascism and tyranny that is ruining the country once known as America. There was once a chance for peace in the world, but Bill Clinton has faded into obscurity.

Now, we must put up with this hick President from the Redneck State of Texas—a state that has executed more people than any other state since 1976. It appears they love to punish minorities through the antiquated and barbaric capital punishment system. It’s a wonder minorities even live in Texas anymore.

Where will the world end up with this oligarchy? In Armageddon? We’re headed there now. This isn’t a presidency for the people, by the people and of the people. It’s a presidency for Halliburton, by Halliburton and of Halliburton. It all began on January 20, 2001—the day that Halliburton and the Supreme Court highjacked the election. If we don’t stop them now, we’ll never get this country back. We can’t leave the hopes and dreams of our posterity to a bunch of conservatives—commonly referred to as “mind numbed robots.”

Conservatives like Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Mark Levin champion this conglomerate of evil. Newt and company are men and women that appear to have had lobotomies, barking out their orders at the whims of corporations and special interest groups. We must stop them and the progress in Iraq and Afghanistan. We must bring Halliburton home now or face the devastating consequences of a freer world. Those precise sentiments are trumpeted in the mainstream media, and should forever be our rally cry to freedom.

On February 25, 2005, in an article for United Press International, Pamela Hess wrote, “The total worth of Department of Defense contracts from 1998 to 2003 was 2.5 billion dollars. Halliburton’s fortunes increased dramatically with the onset of the Iraq war. In 2003 alone, it received contracts from the Defense Department worth 4.3 billion dollars, more in one year than it won in Pentagon contracts over the previous five years.” That was just one of the many examples of the Halliburton oligarchy.

Pamela continued, “In January 2004, Halliburton fired two of its employees in Kuwait who accepted a 6 million dollar bribe in exchange for awarding Army subcontracts to a Kuwait-based company involved in Iraq reconstruction. The next month, Pentagon auditors discovered Halliburton had overcharged the military 27.4 million for meals served to American troops at five military bases in Iraq and Kuwait last year.”

No wonder Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other loud-mouthed conservatives have been Halliburton’s mouthpiece. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if they had stock in the company. With assets going through the roof, Rush and Sean are sure to reward their benefactor, Vice President Cheney and the Halliburton oligarchy.

In a 2003 article for The Nation, Naomi Klein, a rock-solid journalist writes, “It’s not too late to cancel the contracts and ditch the deals. It’s too late to stop the war, but it’s not too late to deny Iraq’s invaders the myriad of economic prizes they went to war to collect in the first place.”

These are yet more reasons we should end the colonization of Iraq and the Middle East.

“Any movement serious about Iraqi self-determination must call not only for an end to Iraq’s military occupation, but to its economic colonization as well,” Naomi wrote. “That means reversing the shock therapy reforms the US occupation chief Paul Bremer has fraudulently passed off as “reconstruction” and canceling all privatization contracts flowing from these reforms.”

Hooray for Naomi! She must continue to report these hypocrisies from the Bush administration. She must advance the liberal agenda at all costs. We must stop the Halliburton oligarchy, even if it means putting everyone at Halliburton out of work. Damn the economy, full speed ahead!

There are even more sobering examples of how Halliburton has kept a tight grip on America and the Bush administration!

In a 2002 article for Corp Watch, Jordan Green wrote, “The Pentagon posts all contract announcements exceeding 5 million dollars on its website, but in Halliburton’s case declined to disclose the estimated value of the award.”

It’s no surprise as to why Vice President Cheney chaired the corporation so long. The corporation caters to the rich and screws the little guy while profiting off the military. Our voices are heard across America and still the occupation continues.

In a May 19, 2004 rally in Houston, protestors assembled at the Halliburton Corporation shareholders meeting to shout at the devil and raise liberty’s banner. Andrea Buffa of Global Exchange, one of the groups organizing the protest, said, “We’re going to tell the shareholders and CEO of Halliburton to bring their employees home from Iraq and stop ripping off U.S. taxpayers and Iraqis.”

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. She probably should’ve sent a letter to Dick Cheney and the administration responsible instead. Halliburton is still in Iraq and Afghanistan, economically occupying those countries for their own self-interests of greed. All of this coming at the whim of two men: Vice President Cheney and George W. Bush.

Hadi Jawad of the Dallas Peace Center didn’t mince any words: “It’s just wrong that Halliburton can get away with overcharging millions of dollars in Iraq, not to mention its other offensive practices, like dodging taxes through offshore subsidiaries and side-stepping federal laws. But because the company is ‘embedded’ in the Bush administration, they’re just made more profitable instead of being held accountable.”

Hadi isn’t just whistling Dixie either. Embedded is a soft term to use for this war-mongering, capitalistic, greedy administration. That’s why we must fight!

We must fight the power and the Halliburton oligarchy! We must fight the man—the man that keeps his thumb on us, forever oppressing the poor people and outsourcing our liberties to Iraq and Afghanistan.

We must fight on the beaches! We must fight in the courts! We must fight in the fields, and in the streets, using our grass roots to reach our fringe. We must fight in Congress! We must fight on Social Security! We must fight for higher taxes, and stop giving breaks to rich people! We must fight a free Middle East! We must keep people oppressed. We will never surrender!

We will forever keep the communist grip on American soil. We must strip the last vestiges of liberty from all corporations, small business and every flag-waving conservative in America. We must remember our heroes: Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Kerry and Kennedy. We must honor their memory at every turn. We must fight President Bush, Vice President Cheney and the Halliburton oligarchy, because they represent freedom and prosperity to all Americans and the world. We must fight our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coastguardsmen because they are beacons of shining hope and prosperity to oppressed nations.

We must forever remember we are liberals: Red, White and Socialist.

How disappointing.

Not one mention of how the evil Republicans are trying to destroy Social Security by forcing our children to invest in Halliburton and the stock market.

How the AARP, together with the Greatest Generation are trying to make sure that our young people learn that groveling at the trough is expected of them.

After all, it's a tradition, unless you are one of those filthy rich.

Regarding the reconstruction of Iraq, if it were up to the liberals we would have sent Peoria Quality Home Builders to rebuild its infrastructure......and Tony's Deli to cater the mess halls for all the troops.

"This is all written tongue in cheek."

Yeah, except he totally and accurately captures the hate-filled venom of the left in the build up to his punch line.

I'm sorry, G.Mason. You are right on point. Republicans are evil and Social Security is my next topic.

Yes, Halliburton has. Of course they weren't Halliburton then. Cheney hasn't been around that long. It was his father in WWII and Cheney began his fascist involvement during Vietnam while John Kerry was out being a hero. :) Hehe!

Yep. The Cheney family goes back to the Revolutionary War. In those days, his family was involved with a company that drove Indians off their land so that the white man could settle his family and farm.

During the Civil War, the Cheney family was linked to the western expansion of the railroad and it's devastating affects on nature and the Indian.

The Cheney family has been an eyesore on American soil for centuries. It has to be stopped!

:) Hehe!

I'll subscribe to Marxist theory when someone shows me a good working example.

My cat is a successful socialist. She gets free healthcare, food, housing, doesn't ever work, pay taxes, or ever have to grow up. She recommends it highly.
