This is the most critical forward you will ever send!
On March 18th, Terri Schiavo , a 41 year old disabled woman will die. She will have her feeding tube removed and she will slowly starve to death. The only crime Terri Schiavo has committed is that of being unable to swallow. She can breath, hear, and react to stimulation. Her parents have heroically fought for years to save their daughter but Terri's husband, after receiving a 1.25 million dollar court settlement for her treatment, is determined to put Terri to death.
She is alive today only because the undying commitment of her family and internet activism. You can check the rest of her story at terrisfight.org
On March 9th, help us Flood Florida and save Terri. Send an email to the following addresses. All it has to say is "Save Terri Schiavo, she should not have to die!"
courts@jud6.org Judge Greer's Office
action@napf.org> National Patient Advocacy Organization
lee.tom.web@flsenate.gov> Florida Senate President
speaker@myfloridahouse.gov> Florida Speaker of the House
jeb.bush@myflorida.com> Governor Bush, Florida
support@abcnews.go.com> ABC News -Tell them!
Not to be picky, but it isn't a given that "On March 18th...will die"
These things are starting to turn into a "Order now for 19.95, but wait, there's more...operators are standing by" hokey stuff and diminishing the focus from helping her.
As discussed in an earlier thread on FR, email should not be sent to Judge Greer. Attempts to sway judges' decisions based on public opinion are misguided, and only invite judicial activism. If the judge were to receive more email from those who want Terri's husband's wishes carried out than those who don't, should he heed those? No, a judge should base his decisions on the law. Appeals to the legislature and the executive, however, are appropriate.
Pinging the Prayer Warriors!!
(trussell will be away for a couple of days. That is why you are being pinged by me. She'll be back soon enough! Thank you for understanding.)
ok, make it say whatever you want it to say. The court has made this a definitive date. Just be sure you are contacting people and asking them to send mail and advocating for life for Terri. Change it how you like, just contact as many people as you can. As far as has currently been reported, March 18 is on the calendar so we have to do something before then.
Where are the groups that protest our death penalty for the worst of criminals and moan over the treatement of dangerous prisoners?
BTTT
Can we ping?
ping, yell, call, mail, email, smoke signal - just do something. Let the news agencies, editors, lawmakers, friends, family know that an innocent disabled woman's life hangs in the balance.
You really are doing a great job at this.
Maybe you can ping this on Monday or so....close to the date.
:o)
(Terri bump)
Reminder bump!
Terri ping!
"What I do you cannot do;
but what you do, I cannot do.
The needs are great, and none of us,
including me, ever do great things.
But we can all do small things, with great love,
and together we can do something wonderful." - Mother Teresa
If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!
Oops! My bad! Sorry to all who got the double ping!
