LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Oscar winner Geena Davis will star as the first female president of the United States in ABC's drama pilot "Commander in Chief."
Kyle Secor was previously cast as her husband, and Ever Carradine as her press secretary. Also on board is Harry J. Lennix as the outgoing president's chief of staff.
The two-hour pilot, from writer/director Rod Lurie, marks Davis' return to ABC. In 2000, she starred in and co-executive produced the network's short-lived comedy series "The Geena Davis Show." Earlier this development season, Davis had a development deal at CBS.
Davis won an Oscar in 1989 for her supporting role in "The Accidental Tourist," and was nominated in the lead actress category in 1992 for "Thelma & Louise." Her feature credits include the two "Stuart Little" movies and "Beetle Juice."

It is easy to see Condi as President, for she has gravitas. I am not entirely sure Ms. Davis can imitate that.
Hee! Ya' think?!?

I went through a very brief round of fanship back in her "Accidental Tourist" days. Luckily, it didn't last long. :o)

OK so she's got a bod that just won't quit...I'll give 'er that. True. But in the end, intelligence is much sexier.
And her bod will quit one day. Rest assured.

Are you crazy? Geena Davis is a totally loopy liberal who supports partial-birth abortion.
This show will just make fun of conservatives and show liberals as the "tolerant, thoughtful folks."

"Paving the way for Hillary."
I think that is exactly what they are doing. They want to get the public thinking about a female president and show how wonderful she could be. I would bet a coca-cola that within the first two episodes, we see Madam President blow something up to show how tough she can be; and deal with a husband that was once unfaithful or at least a problem.

And if you saw her without her make-up and full-on hair coifitivity, she'd send you screaming into the night. Yeah, I've seen her without all the glamor painted on and, um, it is eye opening to say the least!
Paving the way for Hillary.
Exactly the reason for doing this. To pave the way and acclimate people to the idea. Never underestimate Hollywood's subversive intent. They will be full bore for Hillary and this is just the beginning.

Just getting the idea of a female President in the public's minds.

Thanks - you went to the core and came back with the truth. Leftists, when out of power, make-up reality because they cannot force it. When they're in power, there is no need to invent an alternative reality so they occupy themselves with re-writing the past to coincide with their present fantasies.
