LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Oscar winner Geena Davis will star as the first female president of the United States in ABC's drama pilot "Commander in Chief."
Kyle Secor was previously cast as her husband, and Ever Carradine as her press secretary. Also on board is Harry J. Lennix as the outgoing president's chief of staff.
The two-hour pilot, from writer/director Rod Lurie, marks Davis' return to ABC. In 2000, she starred in and co-executive produced the network's short-lived comedy series "The Geena Davis Show." Earlier this development season, Davis had a development deal at CBS.
Davis won an Oscar in 1989 for her supporting role in "The Accidental Tourist," and was nominated in the lead actress category in 1992 for "Thelma & Louise." Her feature credits include the two "Stuart Little" movies and "Beetle Juice."
PS, she was hot in The Long Kiss Goodnight
The first female President will be a conservative woman.
Geena Davis a Republican? Not even. She gave 2 grand to Kerry.
As The West Wing is probably going to shut down soon (ol' Martin Sheen's "Presidency" is about to end), I'll watch this new one. I know, WW is liberal pablum and claptrap, but it has it's moments, and I really like that blonde. :)
Don't count on it. I see Geena putting on 15 pounds and be seen in public with a black pants suit on all the time. She will be feared, loathed and of course respected by both sides of the isle. The media will love her as will the gay community.
um... lemme guess - she's going to be a single woman, a closet lesbian, and a former clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas.
By the way, Geena Davis
By the way, Geena Davis is a Dem donor...
It's been a while. Is she still hot?
Where is she going to get a fat butt and pants suit?
Softening us up for the idea of a female president, I reckon. Here's hoping it's not the one they think it will be.

It is easy to see Condi as President, for she has gravitas. I am not entirely sure Ms. Davis can imitate that.

She's a dem though and though.
Do a knock off of West Wing and hope it sticks.
And if you saw her without her make-up and full-on hair coifitivity, she'd send you screaming into the night.
Just be careful though B, if she's got her bow with her...she might fire an arrow at your bung.
