This needs to be put into context. First, the number of US dead in February was 58, the lowest month since last July. The 1500 includes hostile and non-hostile deaths. There have been 1140 deaths due to hostile fire over a 24 month period. By any reasonable measure, these are light casualties to suffer in pursuit of our national interests.
We lost 3,000 people on 9/11 not to mention the losses suffered in East Africa, the USS Cole, Khobar Towers, and the first WTC bombing.

Lebanon is already taking matters into it's own hands as a result of US presence in the Middle East. Syria is going to fold next.
The end result of this will be the end of tyranical religious hate breeding dictatorships in Iraq, Syria and its puppet Lebanon. Libya has given up its WMD's.
Iran will be prevented from obtaining Nukes and eventually the tyrannical religious rule will end there.
Sudan, Somalia, and the African terrorist nations will be brought in line also.
Iraq may be the only large scale battle fought that will have brought all this about.
There may be more, but it is War, and Iraq is only one battle.
