On this morning's newcast (ABC affiliate) in The People's Republic of Boston, the story was read as follows"
Well, the death toll for American GIs in Iraq has reached an appalling 1500....
Any bias, ya think?

Want to get into statistics????
Even though Chicago had a workable sewer system, in 1885 a massive four-day rainstorm caused sewage to flush far enough into Lake Michigan to invade the citys water intake cribs located several miles offshore. An estimated 75,000 people perished from the resulting contamination, about a quarter of the growing citys population.

The real story is that you're still here.
That's remarkable.
I'm not exactly sure why this came to mind:

It is a crime that 1500 had to die so that you may live free to breed more like you. I loved your quote, too, but Veni just nudged you out. ;-)

There were probably a few soldiers in other wars that had a negative view point. Iraq voted the first time in a free election in over fifty years, I think that says more than anything you could ever dream up.
I will always respect the good men and women of our military. We need them and they need our support.
And I support them whith all my heart, and you should too.

... "and counting" ... like misers count their money, with expressions torn between glee and worry.
You Bush-hating leftists just can't wait for a new milestone number so you can point your cowardly fingers and then wring your hands... because, of course, this news isn't about soldiers fighting for international security from terrorists and WINNING freedom for people in an oppressed region, but it's all about YOU and your anti-American agenda.

On this morning's drive-in radio program, (
WMAL, Washington DC), Fred Grandy mentioned a statistic that you probably won't hear from the MSM. The month of February witnessed the
lowest monthly total of Coalition casualties since the beginning of the war. Guess that little fact will be missed by the likes of our thread poster...

The latest death brought to at least 1,500 the number of members of the U.S. military who have died since the U.S.-led war in Iraq began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. At least 1,140 died as a result of hostile action, according to the Defense Department. The figures include four military civilians. I heard a pMSNBC news babe misreport this fact this morning. She gave the 1500 number as 'killed in action', when it's actually 1,140. Just like any other demographic, our troops succumb to illness, accident, etc. Their numbers are part of the 1500.

Some of the Dems were predicting up to 50,000 deaths before the Senate voted to invade Iraq.
In a normal peacetime year the military sustains 800 active duty deaths. Of course the Dems were mum about the lower benefits and pay given to the families of the 8700 who died during the Clinton years.
Any death sucks, but we knew it could be far worse going in. The President's opponents acting as the terrorists US PYSOP branch doesn't help matters either.

Good thing you weren't around for the American Civil War. About 1200 Americans died on the first day at Bull Run.
To: Wristpin; jbane
Exactly. I wonder how much lower that 1140 KIA number would be had people like jbane, Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry actually supported our troops?

How many deaths were counted on a daily basis at the hands of Saddam by the MSM? NOT ONE!!!
Did the so called human rights party raise one finger over the mass graves? NO!
How many lives have we saved if he was murdering 1000's a year?
This thread smells like cat food!

I heard that idiot "leaders" in Brattleboro, Vermont felt that this phrase was "too jingoistic" and had it removed from the side of a bridge it had been on for many years. Clueless...
