Sen. Byrd's Hitler Comments Draw Fire

A U.S. Senator's likening of Republican strategy on blocked judicial nominees to Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany drew condemnation on Wednesday from top Republicans and the Anti-Defamation League.

Sen. Robert Byrd on Tuesday compared Republican threats to change Senate rules to outlaw procedural hurdles that have blocked 10 of President Bush's judicial candidates to Hitler jamming legislation through the German Reichstag.

"Hitler never abandoned the cloak of legality; he recognized the enormous psychological value of having the law on his side," the Democrat from West Virginia said. "Instead, he turned the law inside out and made illegality legal."

I'm not sure our dear Sen Byrd ever had any usefulness, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But, there is no doubt this guy has far passed having any today.

The reason this clown keeps being re-elected is because he brings home alot of pork to West Virginians. What is surprising is that West Virginians who vote for this dope don't have more principles. But I guess money talks.

Couldn't resist.

I hope this holds for another cycle so the KKK Kleagle can explain to everyone just how Hitler worked.

There was no immediate response by Byrd

But in another article I read about this, his spokesman had something to say...

http://wbns10tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3022039

"Byrd spokesman Tom Gavin denies that Byrd had compared Republicans to Hitler. Instead, he says the reference to Nazis in a Senate speech on Tuesday was meant to underscore that the past should not be ignored."

How ironic.

Is anyone here willing to sponsor me for a Senatorial bid? I will run on just one issue: I, Captain Paintball, if elected, will promise to stand up to the reprehensible element known as the Senate Democrats each and every time they make outrageous statements like the ones former KKK Grand Kleagle robert Byrd made yesterday. No more will these disgusting, racist, Anti-American creatures be allowed to grandstand, obfuscate, and lie to the American people for the sake of face time on the talking head cable programs.

I promise the American people that my statements will be so powerful, so biting and sharp, so witty, so cutting, scathing, and scalding, that they will demand attention from friends and foes alike. I promise my rebuttals to these paragons of asininity (?) will hit our enemies so hard, our allies will be galvanized, encouraged, and emboldened--while our foes will be silenced forever from the shame-inducing verbal smackdowns I will dispense upon these foul, wicked silver-tounged svengalis.

I am willing to relocate to any location of the country to serve. Contact me by Freepmail for donations and any questions.

Just guessing that our old buddy Dan Rather didn't think that this was worth mentioning to his viewer tonight.

Senator Paintball...I can't see it. I don't see running on a platform of being against everything the rat's support as being any more effective a campaign approach than "I hate Dubya...vote for me."

Personally I'd vote for you, but maybe you should expand your message...try saying you are "for education and against crime." Good Luck.

Wow, I am quite impressed by Kleagle Byrd's knowledge of Hitler socialist strategems. Basically a summation of the Democrat platform of today. F.A. Hayek once again proven accurate.

But .. if anybody has noticed .. Byrd's statements are just typical democrat "projection technique" in action. He's accusing the repubs of doing illegal things. However, it was the dems who did the illegal things when they changed the senate rule - BECAUSE IT NO LONGER COMPLIED WITH THE CONSTITUTION - which they have sworn to uphold.

I'm sick of this stuff - TIME IS VERY VERY VERY LONG PAST PUTTING THE FOUL MOUTHED DEMOCRATS IN THEIR PLACE.
