Girl, if that's actually true, are you under the care of somebody who can prescribe for you and monitor your well-being? If you aren't joking or self-diagnosing, and you actually have that diagnosis, it's a very serious matter and I hope you have or get some continuing psychiatric care. If you genuinely feel your mood swings are that wide, there's no shame in it, but it's a very serious condition that needs to be dealt with using medication and some aggressive care and oversight from professionals.

Even if you just think that might be what's going on with you, find somebody you feel you can trust who can help you get some assistance (like a counselor or teacher or minister or somebody like that, if not a parent). Tell them about your mood swings and let them help you get some assistance.

I imagine so, but don't fret too much. Everything is in God's capable hands.

Good night, everybody :)

Ohio, prayers out for your daughter and you and your family tomorrow.

Good night everyone. Thanks for a very fun (and enlightening!) dose.

I've suspected it for the last couple weeks. I was previously diagnosed with depression because I thought it was depression and then normal mood but it occurred to me recently that staying up until 5:00 in the morning making pages of life plans probably wasn't normal. I just started seeing a new psychologist (today) and I'm checking to see if we can afford a psychiatrist or not. (If not, I'm going to the free mental health clinic.) I'm just trying to make the best of it for now. I'm happy that the depression bout is over for now though. The manic part is a lot easier to handle.

I had my ankle crushed that resulted in 11 broken bones, the "Tooth Ache" description was probably because of the fractures, not the contraption :-)

Your Daughter will be just fine, between our prayers and modern medicine, she will be swinging a Tennis Racket by mid April :-)

Hi Seven.

It's been (and continues to be) a long road to true and full integration.

Once the sin of oppression was taken up in America, its tentacles wrapped themselves deeply around that tree of liberty referenced by Thomas Jefferson.

It's been a heckuva job trying to unentangle the two.

The manic part is a lot easier to handle.

Of course it is, but that can be in its own way more dangerous than the depression side, even if it feels better. Some bipolar patients resist taking medication because they don't want to give up the manic episodes. But it will burn you out eventually, believe me, and you'll do things in a manic episode that will make your life miserable later, physically and mentally. Remember that's also partly what causes the misery of the depression periods.

Be very open with your psychologist about this and make sure he/she understands the nature and severity of your mood swings. You're right, if you stay up until 5 am for days on end making plans, the psychologist will recognize that just like you did. And that pretty definitely sounds like a manic episode to me.

Not sure where you are, but regardless you definitely should be able to get some care that's free if necessary. Don't give up until you find that care, because it is out there.

I don't have a problem with taking medication. I'm just glad I know I'm bipolar and not just depressed because I've been on at least half a dozen different medications for depression. Now I know why they never helped.

Man, am I late tonight! Thanks for the great pictures of GW having a good time. I loved the one where Pelosi was shaking Mrs. Robinson's hand and the Prez was just looking elsewhere. Maybe afraid he would laugh out loud at "Miss America" with her wide-open stare?
