Bubba, the 23-pound-lobster that got front-page treatment today after a seafood store spared its life, died at about 3 p.m. today at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. The cause of death is not yet known, but the lobster did not eat since his transfer yesterday from Wholey's in the Strip District to the aquarium in Highland Park, the zoo announced.

Oh darn.
I hope someone delivers a eulogy before they commit him to the buttery, delicious hereafter.

thing probably tastes like a shoe, anything over 4 pounds is really not that tasty.

Ugh. Never eat an animal that died of natural causes.
Eat four lobsters that you kill yourself instead.

Break out the bibs; I've got the butter melting!Too late now. Hafta cook 'em alive to eat them like that.
Maybe good for lobster salad though, if you have enough mayonaise.

Dude... You do NOT want to be eating a lobster that died of natural causes.
And 23 pounders don't taste very good.

The cause of death is not yet known, It was Repetitive Atmospheric Submersion Syndrome.
Caused by the handlers repetitively plucking the poor animal out of the water for numerous media photo-ops.

Here in central PA we recently saw a giant lobster in the supermarket doom tank. The business claw must have been 8 inches long. Somebody surely overpaid to eat him by now. They aren't very tasty when they're that big.
