Anything that man can build and deploy, man can defeat.

Putin either doesn't know history, or he's ignorant of human nature.

The little communist midget needs to shut his mouth and sit down before he gets himself in even more hot water.

In that case the US citizen will need to learn to pray. "God's hand is not short"...

Anyone have or want to create a BMD (ballistic missile defense) ping list? I'd like to be on it.

and on a new sea-based system, the Bulava

I always thought the Bulova was a decent watch, but don't remember any being waterproof.

Putin must have been feeling a little less than revelant.

Sorry Boris, this doesn't wash.

This comes form the country whose best car is a FIAT CLONE!!!

Where you have to wait in line for four hours for a loaf of moldy bread.

Where you have to be on a list for 5 years to get a 1950's style washing machine that breaks the first time you use it.

Or did you mean the "other Russia"?

You know, the one that built all of those great gunnery range targets for our M-1 Abrahms tanks.

Yeah, what do you call them?

Oh, now I remember, T-72's, BMP's, BRDM's, PT-76's ....etc.

Russia is imploding, and getting there fast.

They have some very smart scientists, but most of the cream of the crop are now working at our national labs.

Their problem has never been hard science. They are very good at that.

They can design, but when it comes down to advanced materials, manufacturing, quality control (shto eto znachit, kontrol kachestva? [inside joke]), frankly, they suck.

Their entire society, from top to bottom, has been so corrupt for so long, that they can't build anything worth a sh** (except AK's, and even the Czechs, Poles, and Yugos made better examples of those).

When everyone takes their cut, pretty soon there's nothing left but sand and water in the concrete.

I had a Russian woman working for me who refused to shop at Wal-Mart because there were so many choices her brain would freeze up. She couldn't understand how we were able to select from 50 different kinds of bread.

All of our Russian visitors were offered opera, theater, cultural events, etc. Invariably, they chose Wal-Mart and Payless shoes ("we can get opera and that other sh** at home, take us shopping").

Fear not, let them think their "missile shield" is invincible. But we know better.

they assume they understand our technologies well enough to build such a missile. The damned thing could be stealth and transparent and we could still kill it.

"Now why did Russia choose to make a statement today, not sure there is anything new in this ....?"

Rhetorical reiteration.

I'd like to point out that if Vlad's telling the truth, then he had no cause to get upset that president Bush trashed the ABM treaty to work on missile defense, because Russia had to have been working on this wondernuke in violation of the treaty all along. These things don't just pop up out of thin air. He was therefore lying.

I don't doubt they can make missiles we can't initially target, but I don't believe it will stay that way.

We are too technically great to not find a way to destroy such weapons once launched.

Russia will develop missiles impervious to any defense, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Tuesday

Ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha. They have rotting nuclear submarines that they don't know how to get rid of, and they say they can build this top-notch missle? ha ha ha.

When Putin dies (hopefully not of old age), I want to be in the US delegation, because I want to urinate on the coffin as they drop it into the grave.
