LONDON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice cited what she called "firm evidence" on Tuesday that the Islamic Jihad militant group helped plan last week's Tel Aviv suicide bombing from Syria. "There is firm evidence that Palestinian Islamic Jihad, sitting in Damascus, not only knew about the attacks, but was involved in the planning," Rice told ABC News in an interview according to an excerpt provided by the U.S. television network.

"Pastries." It's a circuitous joke, but somebody was commenting on how refreshing it was to have a Secretary of State with "stones," so I posted a picture of rice balls.
A backhanded double entendre with a twist.

Damn the Egyptian judge....
"Pastries" is one "r" away from the visual, too. Good on ya!

I say we bring the troops home from Iraq through Syria. Howlin, as much as I criticize you, my hats off to you on this one.
That is both funny yet damn straight right the proper tactic.
Kudos to you on this one.

FOFLOL! I got the joke after reading your 'riceballs' post. Thought it was an entirely different joke; a little slow on the uptake today

Another option is to withdraw from Lebanon immediately and simply lay low until peacenik regimes take over eventually in both the U.S. and Israel. I think that's their best bet, frankly. While I'd cheer them on should they decide to strap on Hezbollah or Islamic Jihad, I don't see that as possible politically. They're going to need a sugar daddy after they leave Lebanon and Iran is about the only option there. And Hezbollah isn't leaving the Bekaa valley without one heck of a fight, and I just don't see the Syrians risking both the bloodshed and the obloquy within the Arab nations by doing that.

Good assessment. Syria doesn't have a lot going for it if you factor out organized terror. Pairing with Iran would be a marriage of political conveninience : the Mad Mullahs of Iran and the Sunni of Syria would make them the ideological odd couple. After the conditons in Iraq FINALLY became common knowledge, there would be only one conclusion to such an alliance : the destruction of Israel.

Ping. ...observing the conference for "Palestine" in London. Condoleeza Rice said something.
[Small ping by familyop, who is trying to appear meek after going on and on in another thread. ...apology to SJackson.]

Two years old?
It fit so well, and I hadn't seen it before, I figured it was fresh today.
