A little Iraqi has a new home in Maine. H-P the cat was adopted by National Guard troopers serving with the 152nd Field Artillery Battalion.
Specialist Jesse Cote says the cat was starving and toothless when they found it. But the GI's were able to nurse H-P back to health. The cat ate and slept with the soldiers and even helped them.
Cote says H-P would be the first to react to mortar fire and was their warning of incoming. When the soldiers were returning to Maine, they raised 700 dollars to fly H-P to the states.
No one's sure how H-P got its name, but Cote says it could stand for Here Puss.

"Soldiers and pussy. It's an age old tale." Yeah, but $700.00 could be setting a new precedent...;-)

The US has the coolest military in the world - they adopt kids, and puppies, and kittens, too - all while unloading massive cans of whup-ass.

Awwww. This is the most adorable thing. Big tough soldiers and soft cute kitty landing a home in free America. Thanks, Area51!, and yeah, we know, there are no craft under there.....
Hope they buy puss some choppers.

Time for some pics. I love cats. Never met a cat that was a vegan nor an animal rights advocate. Everyone a little tyrant bless their selfish little hearts.

"Animals give unconditional love"!
But they do so appreciate you more if once in a while they dine on turkey.
