CHICAGO (AP) -- Authorities found two bodies at the home of a federal judge Monday night, and Chicago police and the FBI were investigating.The bodies were found at the home of U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow, but the judge was uninjured, police spokesman Patrick Camden said.
He declined to elaborate.
FBI agents were assisting police but would provide no details.

I add my prayers to yours...just a thought here...not sure leaving the shell casings is a big deal, probably a stolen weapon anyway! They'll no doubt recover the bullets and should be able to match them to the weapon, however, if the weapon is stolen they probably won't have much luck because it will have been gotten rid of!
We live in an evil society and it just seems to get worse and worse, am saddened for this woman and her children, can only pray that God holds them in His hands during this difficult time.
Jumping to conclusions is a poor way to investigate a murder.

This was a professional hit, the gun will also be found if it has not turned up already. This judge was on more than one short list. This was done to keep "white supremacist's" in the news. Most likely a Gov. Rod Bag-o-bitch, BATF or FBI stunt. Remember it's about confiscating the guns in Illinois. We must have some issues for the hard left. Word is this judge pissed off some "union negotiations" that got under the machine's skin.
Matthew Hale is one guy that lived at his parents house for crying out loud. He was about as dangerous as your cat.
I believe he tried. BTW this particular judge had nothing to do with that law license case. She was only doing the trademark case.
That tends to suggest that she is an Evangelical with conservative religious beliefs, although one would need more evidence to nail it down.

It was the Judge's husband and 90 year old mother who were the vicitims of the crime. If the judge had been home, she no doubt would have been the third vicitim.

She IS the third victim, and her daughters the fourth, etc. The killer inflicted maximum damage, more than killing her.
I heard on the news that the bodies were found in the basement. What's with that? Perhaps at the entrance to a garage below the house? Where she would be sure to walk right into them? Was there a dog? God help this poor woman, she's the victim of the worst possible cruelty.
STD, I'm not discounting a professional hit either. Remember the US Senator from IL (name escapes me) who found one of his gorgeous twin daughters murdered in their very fancy lakeshore mansion? I seem to recall that he quit sponsoring certain legislation afterwards....something that would have curtailed crime or unions in some way. The killer got into the house despite big guard dogs, and was never found.

Lefkow issued an injunction prohibiting the World Church of the Creator from using any variation of the name -- including using the words "Church" and "Creator" in the same phrase -- in any manner. This explanation of the trademark case actually misses a pretty critical step. Judge Lefkow actually ruled in Hale's favor the first time around. On appeal, the circuit court reversed and only then did Judge Lefkow rule against Hale's organization. When Hale didn't comply with the order to cease and desist, Judge Lefkow held him in contempt.
Not that this has any particular relevance to the commission of a murder.
I live in the northern Chicago 'burbs, and when I saw the headline of the tribune (something along the lines of "Federal Judge's Husband, Mother Slain") I immediately knew it had to be Judge Lefkow's family. I never appeared before Judge Lefkow, but was still completely stunned by this. Unbelievable.

Until I read this I was willing to consider the possibility, however remote, that it was murder/suicide. Missing weapon would seem to preclude this.
We did have a medical examiner in Houston who didn't let this interfere with his ridiculous, and incorredt, rulings. Fortunately good police work proved him wrong in at least some cases

The murderer was never found. But inflicted maximum damage on the Percy family.

Fox updated the story: it was her husband and her mother who were killed. She was involved in sentencing Matthew Hale, white supremist and anti american attorney. Looks like some nasty business.
Maybe I can help with this--my father is Christian, my mother was (died in 2002) Jewish. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior, but I am half Jewish because being Jewish comes through the bloodline of the mother. It is NOT a race, but a cultural heritage.
In Nazi Germany, Edith Stein, a jew, converted to Catholicism and became a nun. But when the ever efficient Nazis discovered she was born a jew, she was exterminated for it, even though she protested that she was not a jew, but a catholic.
And so I would imagine today if the islamofascists and radical left took over and began their extermination program, I would be killed as a Jew, not a Christian. As would my daughter, for being 1/4 Jew, though she is being raised Christian.
I am no expert on the subject, but this is my understanding.
