A nationwide poll conducted last week by the Siena College Research Institute said more than six in 10 voters believes the United States is ready for a woman president in 2008. Translation: President Hillary.
But Hillary is no dummy. She knows that if she has any hope of becoming president, she can't say such things. To win, she must steal away votes from the red states and the common-sense folks who voted for Bush which means she has to conceal what she really thinks about governing.
Lately, she's been making Barry Goldwater sound like an FDR appointee. Just a few weeks ago she said she thought the abortion and anti-abortion people really do have lots in common. Last week, she sounded like the Gipper himself she she said we can't give a fixed pull-out date for our troops in Iraq because it would embolden terrorists.
Her strategy could work.
If she runs in 2008, she could hold every state John Kerry won a monkey could if he registers as a Democrat. All she'd have to count on is that a handful of voters in the other states will completely forget all the stuff she said and did when her husband was president.
I like Bill Clinton.
But I tremble at the though of what would happen if he becomes First Lady.
You may think I'm joking around here but I'm not. We've had no great scandals or embarrassments under Bush. Adults are working with other adults to face down many daunting adult problems. You may not agree with Bush's approach but do you really want to go back to the Clinton era.
I couldn't care less if our next president is a woman, just so long as she isn't Hillary.

How about, Che who must be obeyed? Scary, no?
If she wants the nomination, she'll have it. She is not all that popular among the left, who thinks she's a DINO, but they'll suck it up and vote for her anyway. The rest is up to the sell (snow) job the media does for her and also dependent on who the pubbies put up against her. I think '08 is ours to lose, not hers to win.
Not this voter. Not in 2008 and not in my lifetime.

Not a chance. She may be a MSM darling, but more people hate her than will ever vote for her. I just wish our guys would get geared up, although I'm sure they are and we have just not heard yet.

"In their bafflement over rejection of their product, liberals have been lacing speeches with religious phrases and asking mainstream Americans to vote their economic interests by rejecting Republican fat cats. It will take a bit more than that."
"religious phrases..." - Hillary now carrying a Bible and informing her audiences that she has always "been a praying person." ("preying person" I believe...don't believe "praying")
"voting their economic interests..." Oh yes. Last year, Killery told one audience somewhere in CA. I think, "we're going to take your tax breaks away from you for the common good...
Hillary Evita Rodham Clintonista..."Don't Cry For Me, America!"
I sure hope someone is charting her flip flops...we're definitely going to need them. Too many people don't look at her and see Marxist. And too many don't seem to have enough pride to not want a woman who puts up with her husband doing the interns, throwing lamps and ashtrays, and using gutter language to her secret service detail. I can't imagine what is going through their minds when they want this witch in the Senate, much less back in the White House.
Doesn't help anything, but I do feel better!

She has the advantage over Democratic rivals in that she can say "moderate"-sounding things and her base knows she's still one of them...it's all about fooling the uncommitted and ill-informed voters.
Nope, you're wrong. Too much file footage of her liberal rants for her to pull it off. If the republicans are smart, they will let her race to the center or even right of center and when she almost has folks convinces, flood the airways with her previous speeches and statements right from her very own mouth.
Good one Char.

We must counter with Condi. A better, smarter, more qualified candidate. AND it would take the sails right out of the Dems' nominating a woman to run for the highest office. It would guarantee a woman would be our next president, and take that plank from their platform.
which would shave?
Isn't that redundant?
1. Hillary May Back 'Another' 2008 Candidate Early
Hillary's dilemma is a serious one.
So serious, we hear from New York Democratic circles, she and husband Bill may come out soon to back another Democrat as "their" 2008 candidate.
Are they serious?
Here's the reasoning.
Hillary is focusing on her re-election race for Senate in 2006. Hillary is a clear favorite to win re-election. She has done her homework for her constituents and remains quite popular in New York.
But she is leaving nothing to chance. Republicans are planning a massive effort to cripple Hillary in New York.
While focusing on re-election, openly running for the presidency could undermine her efforts in New York.
A prominent New York Democratic insider tells NewsMax to expect Hillary and Bill to back another presidential candidate early -- as a placeholder for Hillary if and when she decides to enter the race after 2006.
The way the presidential election cycle now works, it's a four-year game, one source tells us.
Hillary can't just decide to enter after 2006. By then, early Democratic candidates will have locked up key political power brokers in early primary states, big donors and the best campaign operatives.
Hillary also has to move now to outflank a growing faction in her own party that wants to stop her presidential ambitions. This faction includes new DNC chief Howard Dean, who openly detests the Clintons.
It's no secret that Dean was backed by the Kennedy-Kerry clique, as well as Al Gore, all of whom strongly oppose Hillary.
One scenario has retired General Wesley Clark back in the race again. Hillary and Bill backed Clark as their stalking horse to stop Howard Dean. This time Clark could become the meet-up place for Clintonistas -- until Hillary makes her bold move after re-election.
Buckle up, friends. We're in for one helluva a primary fight in the Democratic race!
Run, Hillary, run. I want the witch off the table and junior senator in NY forever.
