TAMPA, Fla. - Terri Schiavo's parents asked a Pinellas court judge Monday to allow her to divorce her husband - in either life or death - in a court filing accusing Michael Schiavo of adultery and not acting in his wife's best interests.
The filing was one of a flurry of 15 motions filed by Bob and Mary Schindler as they now have less than three weeks to find a legal way to keep their severely brain-damaged daughter alive.
Terri Schiavo is scheduled to have the feeding tube that has kept her alive for 15 years removed March 18 unless her parents can convince an appeals court to block Michael Schiavo again. Michael Schiavo says he will have the tube pulled because his wife once told him she would never want to be kept alive artificially.
David Gibbs, the Schindler's attorney, said Pinellas Circuit Court Judge George Greer has indicated he will not hear the divorce request and five other motions filed Monday - but that only means that the matters are now on their way to being appealed to the 2nd District Court of Appeal in Lakeland........

If Terri had gotten the therapy she's needed for the last 15 years, you can bet she would have filed for divorce. Her b*stard of a "husband" can continue to petition to have her starved to death until she is divorced from him. I can't believe that he is still her legal guardian.
A Church anullment is also in order.
One would think it is a possibility. As you know, myself and others have suggested it. A legal divorce would carry greater weight in court.
Jeez, it is amazing how many people lack even the most basic understanding of our judicial system.
The court cannot have it both ways!!!!!!!
NO MATTER. A GENERAL MASTER IN PINELLAS COUNTY CAN HEAR PETITIONS FOR DISSOLUTIONS OF MARRIAGE. The more Greer says "no", the more he looks like a cereal killer.
There is no such thing as common-law marriage in Florida.
Are you aware of a shred of evidence that Ms. Schiavo previously made plain her desire for a divorce under these kinds of circumstances? If not, then everything you are saying is simply rank speculation and has no place in a courtroom.
Michael presented evidence. It may have been fabricated, but no one has contradicted it. You may not like that he could lie, but people lie in court every day. And he may have been telling the 100% truth - and you'll never know. But your willingness to scrap the entire legal system to decide the case based upon your hunches is terrifying.
AMEN!!!!
Just as Michael has claimed that "Terry would never want to live in this fashion - she said so", her parents should be able to claim "Our daughter would never want to remain married to a two timing (actually three timing) ba$tard of a husband - she said so."
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil!
Oh well, I guess that last one doesn't apply to Greer, just the first 2.
Yes, it is amazing how intelligent and informed YOU are, and how STUPID and ILL-INFORMED the rest of us are!!!!!!
Forgive me for being skeptical, but you've already made things up out of whole cloth on this thread.
Profound analysis, thank you. Very sad case.
What, he shoots boxes of Frosted Flakes every night or something?
I have another caption for this picture. How about "When's that bitch gonna die!" ala Michael Schiavo, her loving, adulterating-before-Terri-collapsed husband in name only.
If she said so. Or do you want them to lie under oath if she didn't?
I understand the judicial system just fine. I've been reading about this case for quite a while. Justice in this country has been reduced to: "may the best liar with the most money and connections win". That's across the board, not just Terri's case.
It seems to me that you have an axe to grind regarding the word "divorce". Terri's marriage needs to be disolved to save her life. Don't worry, no one will nail Michael for spousal support....
I agree!
However I was thinking the other day that I would not like to see them divorce....I want to see Terri's parents gain full custody of her, full guardianship.
A divorce would free Michael to marry his mistress.... A part of me would like to see Terri deny Jodi what Jodi has been waiting for for years!
Exactly! Interestingly she made more than passing comments while watching a movie about pursuing a divorce, right before her supposed "collapse."
