then we must also consider yourself as a crack pot. You
don't want to know all of the story, just accept Pats word.

Normally I would even accept Pats word unless there weren't
other things that indicated something might be wrong.

Notice the word "might"! I am not nore did I say that Pat is
wrong, I just said "I" needed more which you haven't provided.
That would be helpful should choose to do so.
