One of the best way to drain the swamp is to kill the aligators and stop the flows into the swamp.

this may be noted downthread, but I read that the Palestinian Authority cooperated with the Israelis to arrest the co-conspirators in Friday night's homicide bombing.. that's another major breakthru. This feels remarkably like Eastern Europ in the late 80's. mazel tov for Bush, his principals, determination to see this thru and putting up with relentless attacks from the left including the MSM.

I wonder how Syria could have miscalculated the reaction over the Harari assassination so badly. Did they just think that th ere would be a few days of mourning, then this would fade into people's memories???

"The independent government of Lebanon just gave in to imperialist twice non-elected Bush."
Try puppet government of Syria that doesn't represent the Lebanese people. This is pretty much the same situation we saw in Iraq. These guys are so consumed with their hatred of Bush that they'd deny democracy to people who want it.

Yes. That's exactly what they thought.

Only Dummies equate the spreading of freedom with "American Imperialism".

I've been getting attacked by one poster for injecting a little bit of perspective into this event. We can't evaluate it from the POV of the Lebanese people, alone. If we disregard Syria's POV, then sure, it looks like Prague Spring. If Syria is, indeed, fighting for its survival, they cannot survive without Lebanon. That's why I'm skeptical. Ignore the person who's attacking you. You happen to be right, in my opinion, on the above points. Just bear in mind that dominos don't fall all at once, but one at a time.

That woman is praying in front of MEN with her hair uncovered! I always had the impression that Lebanon was more secular and/or practiced more religious tolerance before Syria took control.

I came here to find news on the situation in Lebanon...not to read your defintion on the who's who on what side of the war on terrorism they are on....most of us agree that Syria is aligned with the Axis whom supports terrorism....have you killed this thread yet?? POTUS' definition, not mine. Once again, you can't seem to manage a straight answer.

I asked a simple question. If you can't answer it, you are not worth my time. "Simple" would not be my descriptive term of choice. But I do agree with your latter statement.

Where have you been for the last 2.5 decades? I've spent a good portion of it on this thread watching you lamely attempt to cover your mistake.

Right, and it's no accident that Syria landed itself on the Axis Of Evil list shortly after September 11, 2001, by none other than President Bush in front of a joint session of Congress, because for decades, they've been on that notorious list of states that sponsor terror.
