Exactly, exactly. If his story is true, he shot these two because he felt that he and his troops were threatened. That means he and his troops were threatened as a direct result of his decision to VIOLATE A STANDING ORDER and uncuff the prisoners who were secured and could present no threat.

I forgot that he was prior enlisted...yes, that decreases my patience for a stupid mistake right there. He DEFINITELY should know better, since he's got more experience than you average 2nd. It's something he should have known better than to do (undoing the cuffs, I mean).

Add me to your cadre, if you would, please. I support the Corps, not those who ignore orders.

A marine can break the rules, ignore orders, fly the finger towards procedure, and get people killed as a result, and it doesn't matter, because he's an American, and they were Iraqi.
If that's not messed up for a conservative site, I don't know what is.
Hear, hear. All persons have rights, without regard to their nationality or religion, and to secure those rights governments (and their laws and standing orders) are instituted. Supporting the Rule of Law (or the Rule of the UCMJ) is so fundamental to conservatism, that to see it disparaged by alleged conservatives is truly horrifying.
