There was a form letter with one of the e-mails or a message that I modified from a form type letter that sounded really nice. I sent mine off snail mail over a few days ago and also the e-mail versions. Calling will do well to when you call the 800 number. There is both 800 numbers for the FL House and Senate as well as the US House and Senate. I don't have my form letter handy but all the suggestions have been very helpful to others. Thanks for your hard work.
Time for me to turn into a pumpkin - so here's the nightly goodnight BUMP for terri.

PETITION TO DISCONTINUE CONSIDERATION OF HOUSE BILL 0523 AND SENATE BILL 0988 IN FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
http://www.flsenate.gov/data/session/2005/House/bills/billtext/pdf/h0523.pdf
TO: Members of Florida House and Senate
We, the undersigned, hereby respectfully request that Florida Lawmakers immediately discontinue any further consideration of pre-filed Bills titled HB 0523 and SB 0988 (An act relating to evidence; repealing s. 90.602, F.S., relating to testimony of interested persons regarding oral communication with a deceased or mentally incompetent person).
WHEREAS The undersigned petitioners are citizens of the great State of Florida, advocates for the disabled community, advocates of patients retained rights under state and federal statutes and interested parties to Floridas laws as they pertain to the protections of vulnerable, elderly and disabled citizens, and
WHEREAS The introduction of House Bill 0523 and Senate Bill 0988 will effectively eliminate necessary legal protection of incapacitated individuals against conflicted guardians, heirs apparent, heirs in fact and beneficiaries in legal proceedings that determine the incapacitated persons medical treatment desires and financial management of property, and
WHEREAS House Bill 0523 and Senate Bill 0988 creates an instant and tangible conflict of interest for guardians and interested parties of incapacitated individuals, and
WHEREAS House Bill 0523 and Senate Bill 0988 creates ambiguity with regards to clear and convincing evidence as it relates to the intentions, medical treatment care desires and personal interests of incapacitated persons:
We, the undersigned, ask that you immediately and expediently deny and consideration of these bills and further that you immediately and expediently deny consideration of any filed and pre-filed bills that would limit legal protections of Floridas vulnerable, disabled and elderly citizens.
HB 523, amending the Dead Man's Statute, is a BAD bill and makes it easier to recall and have admitted into evidence those 10 yr-old "wishes" of the incapacitated person that are now driving the Schiavo case.

Florida folks also need to PHONE, E-MAIL and FAX members of the Florida House and Florida Senate in opposition of this bill, 523. And do it repeatedly.

Amen and Amen! Standing in Agreement with your Beautiful Prayer, Pegita!
Tom Lee says he wants to be fair to Michael Schiavo and the right-to-die crowd .. he also wants to be fair to Terri.. wonder what that means.
It means that he wants to be all things to all people, which means he'll be nothing to anyone (or come down on Michael's side). He wants to straddle the fence between 2 diametric opposites, and come out looking good. He wants to be a moderate.
Here we go again.

This is VERY Important

This is an excellent point. Great post!

Now, the agency is refusing to say whether it will take Terri Schiavo into protective custody, Felos said.
``They will not state on the record that they will not take Mrs. Schiavo into custody after the 18th tube removal,'' Felos said. ``We asked specifically if this is what they will do, and that [lack of response] is very troubling.''
Felos' comments came after the latest in a series of hearings at which Terri Schiavo's parents are seeking to block their son-in-law from removing his wife from life support.

How to Impeach Judge by Gordon
Hope I'm doing this right. Very important
I am with you on France. Our son is buried south of Paris. Even the most socialist of our neighbors and local doctors showed a natural compassion and concern and we were always treated naturally by passers by. (All except a nasty communist mayor of our village.)
Not the same here, not the same when we lived in Homestead, FL.
When our son died, one of the French doctors left his profession and now devotes his life to helping the extreme handicapped.
Yes, I forgot about the Schindlers having to agree to that.
PC posted info re the federal bill on the FL FR board...there's been a lot of talk in the past month or so from various freepers that people were posting too much on there.
Anyhow, pc is back, they granted the request to let him back.
Actually I posted to all 50 States separately. This is a national issue and I wanted to make sure that all others were aware of this request to call the US Congress and Senators. I guess that was a no, no trying to communicate in such a fashion. Ooops. Forward ho!
LOL
Well we know you're covering all bases!! I wouldn't think that would be prohibited, it is a national issue. But they could just give a warning especially to such a respected FR poster.
UPDATE:
I called Senator Lee's office at the 800 number. Apparently it is the district office that it connects you to. I asked again if I could find out what Mr. Lee's position was on SB 2128 as I left a message yesterday trying to find out and was promised a phone call back. The young woman who answered the phone (Becky?) recognized my voice said she wasn't able to find out yet. I said that he had said in the news that he wanted to be fair to Michael Schiavo and Terri at the same time etc. basically wondering how that was possible. She said she didn't know as he was in Tallahassee. I asked if I should call the Tallahassee office. She said I could. Anyways I told her that I would still like a call back. I relayed that this bill isn't just for Terri but for all disabled and vulnerable people in the state and that it will protect them from being taken advantage of by people like Michael Schiavo, etc. I then cut to the chase and asked her if they aware that there were crimes being committed in the case of Terri. She admitted that they are receiving a lot of information in regards to crimes and that they are compiling all of it together. (I guess they are trying to make one big picture of what is really going on.) Let's hope. I thanked her for her time. PLEASE CALL THE SEPARATE SENATORS AND HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES AND REPORT BACK TO THE LIST WHO IS IN SUPPORT AND WHO IGNORANTLY OPPOSES .. PLEASE INFORM THEM THAT THERE ARE CRIMES HAPPENING AND THEY NEED TO WAKE UP TO THAT FACT AND STOP CRIMES AGAINST THE VULNERABLE AND DISABLED OF OUR STATE BY SUPPORTING HB701 IN THE HOUSE AND SB 2128 IN THE SENATE. REPORT BACK TO THE LIST.
"*** END-OF-LIFE ISSUES *** Perhaps, I'm a dummy, but IS that not the very same WORDING that the infamous Hemlock Society uses??? I hate to be negative, but I'm sick of the games they play."
You're right maybe we need to let Senator Lee know this is a "right-to-life" issue, not an "end-of-life" issue.
Also, how can you be fair when one side wants to save a life and the other wants to commit murder? Terri is not property that you divide up to be fair.
It was something I learned that helped me navigate to old posts and just wanted to share and your post gave me the opportunity. I didn't mean the post number by itself wasn't acceptable.
