Terri's Freepers,
Judge George Greer denied Terri's parents' Motion for a Stay to protect their daughter's life while there are still pending issues in this LIFE AND DEATH MATTER. In addition the Department of Children and Family Services made a surprise visit to the court hearing the other day and asked Judge Greer if they could approach the bench. Judge Greer denied DCF the opportunity to speak. DCF asked for 60 days to conduct a complete investigation of allegations that have surfaced in the form of a Complaint to their agency.
What was set in motion instead? On Friday, February 25th, Judge Greer REFUSED TO issue another Stay because he was "not comfortable" issuing a say to protect a Ward of the State but instead "set a date certain" (on his calendar at least, not on mine) to BEGIN THE BARBARIC, ANTI-AMERICAN, STARVATION-DEHYDRATION SLOW MURDER OF TERRI.
Attorney Gibbs for Terri's parents held a press conference after J. Greer's order that was so tastefully written to indicate that "he was giving the Schindlers until March 18th so they could "prepare for Last Rites." Attorneys Gibbs called this ruling and prior rulings "Hitler-resque". Indeed.
If Judge Greer wasn't LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA in his courtroom, why any need for Last Rites? Greer's urgency to fulfill this killing places urgency on every one of us to lobby Governor Bush, Florida's House and Florida's Senate.
A Judge in America is ordering the manner of someone's death, a disabled woman who is healthy but needs rehabilitation.
Time is short so we don't really have time to get into Greer's mind to see why he is Florida's Til of the Hun.

8. Tell your friends that Terri is alert and aware of her surroundings and to visit www.terrisfight.org to see her videos.
9. PETITIONS. We will gather current Petitions here for you. At this time, you can sign a SAVE TERRI PETITION AT www.renewamerica.us. THERE ARE ALSO IMPEACH GREER PETITIONS ABOUT.
Finally, the Pope has no Living Will. He will be SAFE as long as he stays away from George Greer's courtroom. The Pope is in our thoughts and prayers and he knows of Terri. He wants Terri to be freed from oppression and from a painless death by starvation-dehyration.

Why doesn't he call Bishop Lynch and tell him how to write an anti- euthinasia statement on behalf of the Catholic Church!
Are enough speaking up for it to be significant, do you think? I hadn't heard that about the folks from the Florida Legislature speaking up for her. Wonderful, if so!
The Problem with so much of our information, especially court documents, is that it is in PDF files and we aee not able to copy and paste from the file.
I am interested in new Medical Affidavits since Greer is going to rule on them (I hope!) this week. www.Terrisfight.org has a nice calendar of what is going on next week, when I have a minute I post it over here. Since the medical affidavits are going to be looked at next week by Greer I spent a lot of time transposing them so that we could hve a good look at them together.

I trained under Fred Plum M.D. wo originally popularized the term, “vegetative state”.
I base my opinion about her condition on extended experience and knowledge working with patients in similar conditions, including the Central Park jogger case in Manhattan in 1989.
Based on my opinion, and limited knowledge regarding her case, I believe that there is a definite possibility that Mrs. Schiavo is not in a persistent vegetative state because the television show that I watched, she seems to be consciously aware. I think she is minimally conscious at least. She may even be conscious.
Mrs. Schiavo needs to be evaluated in order to determine her level of cognitive functioning. A PET scan or an FMRI (functional MRI), and an EEG would be helpful.

It is a matter of credibility whether Ms. Schiavo wants to live or die. An “off the cuff” remark made to another person is not a “state of mind.” Our selves are in a constant state of change, a process determined by our own genes, environment and life events, as well as the with to change. Because we are all in the process of changing, Mrs. Schiavo is not the same person as she was when she made her alleged remarks about not wanting to live in a certain condition.
Mrs. Schiavo is not on a respirator. She is merely using a feeding tube. She is not suffering, or disfigured by it, nor does she experience physical complications from relying on it. Removing it will lead to her death and terminate all chance of her improving or enjoying any future life. Healthy people aren’t often able to appreciate how severely injured people can cling to life.

I am currently a General Surgeon, working all over the world assisting in the treatment of brain and spinal cord conditions.
I have not physically examined Teri Schiavo, so I cannot offer a medical diagnosis of her. However, I have observed a video of Ms. Schiavo, and she appears to be responsive.
I recommend that Mrs. Schiavo receive a SPECT scan and PET (blood flow and metabolic activity) scan.
I have been able to increase cerebral blood flow and biological agents into the brain of patients. Generally, if we are able to increase the blood flow to her brain, she might show improvement.

Board certified Psychiatrist Post Graduate residency in neurology and neurological surgery. I have published 6 textbooks and more than 60 papers in various peer-reviewed journals.
I base my opinions about her condition on a review of her medical records and on scrutiny of a videotape of the patient dated January 22,2000. Mrs. Schiavo is not in a persistent vegetative state. Based on the fact that Mrs. Schiavo can look around, smile, and make verbalizations, it is my opinin that she is not in a persistent vegetative state.
Since the time of the original court’s ruling in the Terri Schiavo matter, a new neurological entity has, subsequently, been defined. This entity is known as “minimally conscious state,” (MCS). The American Academy of Neurology’s own journal has published four articles on this condition in the last several months.
This new diagnostic brain-damaged category clearly indicates that Terri Schiavo should be re-evaluated for the correct diagnosis, (MCS).
Since the court previously ruled that Terri is in a persistent vegetative state, new technology has become available to more accurately diagnose the current mental functioning of a patient. This new technology, which is called functional magnetic resonance imaging or FMRI, can measure brain activity by creating multidimensional images of blood flow to various parts of the activated brain. For the first time, doctors using the MRI may predict a patients capability for emerging or recovering form those who do not, and also to guide us in therapeutic techniques and strategies that would help a patient recover from a minimally conscious state.
Terri Schiavo deserves the opportunity to be treated for her minimally conscious state condition and she deserves to have the benefit of new technology that was not available prior to the court’s original ruling on her condition.
The surface is camouflage with deceptions and lies and the masses are blind to the facts. Many people and many people who go to church believe she is still in a deep coma, and should die.(thanks to the Orlando Sentinel)
I can understand now ,why the nazi took over Germany and rounded-up people(Jewish,disable and true Christians)and put them in death camps so easy, while the masses did nothing.(like Rush & others)

Carolyn Heron M.D. Physical, Medical and Rehabilitation (PMR) doctor. Teaching physical diagnosis and treatment to students at Pilsen Family Medicine in Chicago.
I have seen videotapes of Ms. Schiavo on the news and judged her behaviors and facial expressions. I have also read a number of articles regarding her situation.
Based on my opinion Ms. Schiavo is not in a persistent vegetative state (PVS). Someone in a vegetative state does not respond appropriately to stimuli around her, and does not move voluntarily. A PVS patient may have a following with her eyes, but it does not translate into a facial response. There is no processing of information. Ms. Schiavo does show appropriate facial response to stimuli. She also sits up independently. These behaviors are not consistent with someone in a vegetative state. Therefore, she is at least in a minimally conscious state (MCS). I believe she is better than minimally conscious.
Ms. Schiavo does not choke on her saliva, therefore she has some swallowing function. This is also inconsistent with PVS. It cannot be assumed that Ms. Schiavo will not be able to live without the feeding tube. There are techniques for learning how to swallow. Furthermore she may have some ability now. There is also a method to swalling without aspirating. If the patient sits up straight and swallows using a thick substance she may be able to learn how to swallow.
I would not use the term “vegetative” in describing Ms. Schiavo. She is at least stage two, possible three, on the Rancho Los Amigos Scale.

I have published papers on brain injury treatment, including “Neurocognitive EEG Rehabilitation – Neurosensory Feedback Coma Stimulation” and Neurocognitive EEG Rehabilitaton – Use of EEG Biofeeback Following Brain Surgery” which involve using neurosensory feedback for coma stimulation. I have testified as an expert witness in many legal cases involving brain injury.
I have reviewed information about her condition, including reviewing photographs and video of her. I strongly believe that Ms. Schiavo deserves to have a neurological and neuropsychological evaluation.
I have treated ad reviewed cases on many patients who are similar to Terri Schiavo and have worked with many people who were diagnosed with PVS. Often a neurologist diagnoses PVS upon admission and there is no follow-up evaluation which leads to failure to update/change the diagnosis. There is a high misdiagnosis of PVS due to lack of proper cognitive and detailed neurological assessment.

I have viewed the short video clips on the Terri Schiavo website. Based on those short clips there appears to be evidence that Ms. Schiavo responds to her mother and is able to distinguish her mother form other persons who interact with her. There is also evidence of sustained visual pursuit, which is the clip where she is following the balloon. These behaviors indicate awareness of the environment, and this type of behavior distinguishes minimally conscious state (MCS) from persistent vegetative state (PVS)
The definition and diagnosis criteria for minimally conscious state were published in “Neurology” in February 2002.
Food and water should be offered to patients in the ordinary way in the case where artificial nutrition and hydration are being terminated. Providing food and water in the natural way, by mouth, constitutes “ordinary care” not “treatment.” Ordinary, comfort care should always be provided irrespective of instructions regarding “limitation of treatment”
